Mhairi

This daughter is a rebel. She does what she wants most of the time, and has a gift for thievery, specializing in lock picking. She is rarely found without a smile while she pockets your coin, not that she needs it. She more enjoys the thrill of the act. She may or may not have stolen some of her parent's things before leaving.

With this, she set off into the wilderness, away from the stifling court life she had grown to resent and towards the great unknown. Though, the warrior princess soon found the outside world not as thrilling as she had expected- everyone was attracted to her gilded appearance and the banner she donned proudly, and this soon attracted undesirable company, a witch that was in dire need of more Shadetouched subjects to study. Of course, Mhairi was never one to listen to logic, and seeing FoulPlay in what she felt was shabby robes, she didn't quite seem to take the Nocturne seriously when she was invited to a game of poker.

After all, thought Mhairi to herself, she was being invited to the Nocturne's place. She couldn't possibly be held accountable for stolen items- or so she thought. As the card game she played with FoulPlay intensified, Mhairi belatedly realised that it was a trap designed to entrap her, and by refusing to play her final card through a simple sleight of hand, FoulPlay was forced to let her go. Enraged at being outsmarted for once, the Nocturne expelled a powerful blast of magic at the originally-Imperial child, intending to murder her so that she could not spread her loss to others, but when the smoke cleared, what would lay before her was a grotesque, misshapen Ridgeback, malformed spines jutting from her once-beautiful hide.

With this, she was imprisoned with Gambit, who simply told her to get comfortable and began to treat her newly-transformed appearance. The fellow Light dragon was able to realign most of Mhairi's bones, allowing her to be able to freely move- but she was now cursed as a Ridgeback, no longer able to become the Imperial she once was and doomed to never be recognised by her parents. She curses FoulPlay by name as she begrudgingly works for the wily Nocturne, plotting her revenge while studying every tome in her library. She would never see it coming, Mhairi stewed to herself.

Nobody ever really did, but how do you outsmart a thief at their own game?

Currently the many-legged queen of the Centiforge having escaped her fate, Mhairi continues to torment unfortunate passerbys through the clan to gather information and gain leverage with her companion Gambit in tow.
