Vemödalen
n. the frustration of photographing something amazing when thousands of identical photos already exist—the same sunset, the same waterfall, the same curve of a hip, the same closeup of an eye—which can turn a unique subject into something hollow and pulpy and cheap, like a mass-produced piece of furniture you happen to have assembled yourself.

For every success, a thousand mistakes. And sometimes, the mistakes add up to something.

Unlike many of the others, Vemödalen is not a construct of Silience's design. Instead, they are assembled by Ambedo out of the useless and broken refuse of Silience's work.

Officially, they are a builder for the Sanctuary.

But they isn't sure where they stand. They feel torn, as though even their soul was constructed out of the lives that could have been, each one trying to drag them to live how the echos of others never will.

There are decided shifts in their personality, they've noticed. One day, careful, studious, and with a particular fondness for the color chartreuse. And slowly, ever so slowly, they find what they considered the core of their personality, of their self has shifted into something foreign.

Mostly, it's terrifying to be unable to predict her own actions.

The rest of the time, her response to things feel strangely uncertain and unfamiliar, like walking up a slanted slope. One that constantly changes, never to be completely understood.

But honestly, the worst part is the disappointment. Around the Sanctuary, they do basic tasks. Fairly mediocre. Even with her shifting ways, they can see the slight look of disapproval each time Ambedo sees them. Almost bored. At their most callous, it stung them more than anything would.

Which is irritating, because he's a just baby wrinkly bat dragon.
Maybe they are feeling a bit spiteful that particular day.

For every success, a thousand mistakes. And sometimes, the mistakes add up to something.

They just hope it'll come out to something unique, something beautiful. Or at least, something worthwhile.
