Biography

No one knows where Reginald came from, but he arrived soon after the clan’s creation. In his claws he clutched a letter from the fabled Matriarch, the founder of the clan who had disappeared soon after its formation. Though most were dubious of the letter’s authenticity, they had no reason to cast the Snapper out just yet. With his jolly attitude and rumbling laughter, he didn’t quite fit in among the quiet, watchful group, and they viewed him wearily. Although Reginald began work as a messenger for the group, they still held him in suspicion. There was something that wasn’t quite right with that Snapper. No one could be that cheerful, and there was no way someone could be that dimwitted. The suspicion only became worse as during one of his mail trips, Reginald returned with blood staining his claws. When asked, Reginald denied all claims, instead laughing it off. Murder? Him? Of course not. It was after many such trips that the clan decided they had to do something about this Snapper. Behind that smiling façade, there had to be a psychopath. Exile, some of the dragons suggested. Death, others said. But just as action was about to be taken, Reginald returned with a letter from the Matriarch that warned of impending danger. Some were doubtful of the letter’s truthfulness, but those who believed the letter took action to protect their possessions. One day after coming back from a hunting trip, those who had ignored the letter found all their possessions stolen by bandits, while those who had hidden their possessions looked at Reginald in a new light. As their only tie to the Matriarch, losing Reginald would be losing Her guidance. They stopped questioning Reginald’s trips, though they still watched him wearily whenever he returned splattered in blood. Reginald never seemed to notice anything was off. He greeted everyone enthusiastically (Though the response he received was less so), and started up conversations with everyone he passed. He wrote Every now and then a dragon would become curious and attempt to follow Reginald on his frequent mail trips. Always after a day or two, they’d lose sight of the large Snapper and would wander lost for a few days before finally returning home, defeated. Other times, the dragon never returned. Some even began to secretly seek out the Snapper, asking him to defeat a rival or steal from nearby clans. Though they never received affirmation from Reginald, the dragon would always find a sign that the deed had been done. A pile of treasure in one’s lair, the severed paw of a rival. Despite all this, Reginald remained his cheerful self. In between trips, Reginald would often be found frolicking among the glowshrooms or taking moonlit walks with his mate, Celozon. At those times, Reginald could be seen as almost normal — if you could ignore the occasional mysterious blood stains. | xxxxxxxxxxxx |

P e r s o n a l i t y Reginald is always cheerful, greeting everyone with a jolly laugh and a quick grin. He seems shallow, reusing the same old jokes and laughing at them long past anyone else, and beneath his cheerful and jovial attitude, there lies something darker. Or at least, that's what the others think. Something sinister and dark and just plain evil. They see something in the gleam of his eyes, or in the shift of his stance, and no one ever feels safe with him. Despite all that, Reginald is normal as any other dragon, though abnormally cheerful. He enjoys poetry and taking long walks on the beach. He often serenades his wife with bad poetry or songs that make sense to only them. He can be seen in the fields picking flowers to bring to Celozon as a gift. H i s t o r y It's plain Reginald hailed from the Windswept Plateau, but aside from that, no one knows. Some have gone on journeys to ask around Wind territory for anyone who knew of Reginald, but no one ever did. For most, Reginald simply appeared one day and stayed. M i s c e l l a n e o u s Most assume Reginald's an assassin. Some even think his job as a mailman is only a cover for his real career. Whatever Reginald's job is, he always completes it. Appearing with a bag full of letters... or sometimes a bag splattered with blood. Members have tried asking Reginald whether or not he's actually an assassin, but Reginald never said anything. There are a few who believe that Reginald can't be an assassin, and he must be passing on their requests to someone more capable of stealth than a clumsy, pink Snapper. For the most part, people stay away from Reginald. Either because he's unnerving, or there's only so much they can take of someone who's so darn cheerful all the time. Reginald remains the only link between the clan and the clan's Matriarch. The older members of the clan believe the Matriarch to be something Reginald made up himself, but with the majority of the clan believing, they can't dissent publicly. | xxxxxxxxxxxx |
