Biography
[Ka-La-Tour]
ROLE: Clan Leader
PERSONALITY: Strong-willed and forgiving of his clan, Cal has reawakened his love of mischief and play.
Young and foolish was Calator, but he has grown into a strong leader of an albeit small clan. He had not intended to be a leader, he was quite happy wandering the lands with his pack of Mirrors, taking a lesser role in favour of gallivanting about with his pack-mates.
But one fateful day when they were wandering the steppes, a golden Guardian chanced upon them. The meeting was short and embarrassing as the larger female explained her predicament:
Until she had met him that day, Proteja had not known what she was destined to protect. Despite Calator's protests, she insisted that she would not leave him and to his fear, the pack was adamant that they would not let her travel with them. And so, the young male was left alone on the wind-beaten plains with a hulking great Guardian dragon, no food, water or shelter. Needless to say they didn't get off to the greatest start. It took a great many months for the two to learn to respect each other, and even longer for them to learn to love each other.
Since the uprising and growth of his once small clan, Calator became a strong willed and harsh leader. His once playful nature was pushed aside in favour of success through brutality. Not a cruel leader however, he governed his family with a powerful claw, holding on til the time came that he would pass and his sons, Viridian and Blitz, take his place. Not that he wanted them to.
It took a number of years for the Clan Leader to realise that none could or would take his throne from him. As the clan grew too large to exist comfortably in the flat lands, Cal took his dragons up the cliffs and through the reeds. Many were lost along the way; hatchlings and non-windborn dragons fell through the gaps in the rocks. His own children too were swept away by the strong winds, unused as they were. When his clan eventually reached the peak, they were almost literally, blown away at the beautiful plateau on which they found themselves. Here the clan would grow stronger still, and the old green mirror would find in him again the breath of the Windsinger, that had been lost before.
Calator met the basilisk, known only as Red when he was fighting for supremacy in the Scorched Plains. Seeing such a strong animal submit to him, heightened the mirror's pride in himself. Previously only keeping the creature as a symbol of his strength, Cal had a begrudging respect for his feathered friend.
Upon reaching the summit of the Ascent, Red chose to depart from the leader and passed on his mantle of familiar to the herald which beckoned him from on high. Cal has accepted the herald as his new colleague and listens wisely to the sage advice that is given to him.
