Piety is Nephalem's equal in all but title, and he regards her with such reverence that some wonder if the title was given to the wrong dragon. Piety seems content in her lack of a title, however, advising her mate and often staying his hand when his mind turns to violence. She is his temperance, often reminding him that all deserve a second chance.

 Piety traveled to the Cathedral alongside Nephalem after they were met by Primus. They both thought the Cathedral a good place to quietly devote themselves to the Lightweaver, but upon their arrival, discovered only chaos within. Helping Primus restore order, she and Nephalem swore to guard and keep the Cathedral from such chaos again.

When the culprit was discovered, it was Piety who advocated they show mercy, for even those who defied the Lightweaver could be redeemed. To the surprise of those who had watched Nephalem slaughter the betrayers, he agreed, and allowed Hymn and Hace, the two main culprits, to live.

It is Piety who sees the possibilities for good in all, though some question her definition of "good".
