Biography
Elysia Swallowtail
Howdy, fellas!
They call me Elysia. I'm acting Grand Alchemist and Senior Wind Mage of my adoptive clan here in Starfall Isles. Learning something new is my most favorite activity since I was born, particularly if that's something creative and allows to further develop knowledge on my own. Both alchemy and magic fall under this definition, and that's why I'm ranked so high among my clanmates in these arts.
Howdy, fellas!
They call me Elysia. I'm acting Grand Alchemist and Senior Wind Mage of my adoptive clan here in Starfall Isles. Both alchemy and magic fall under this definition, and that's why I'm ranked so high among my clanmates in these arts.
Attention! If you plan on offering me something for that dragon/desire to obtain it and are going to message me about this, please note that this is my permanent dragon that is not planned to be sold, traded, bred or anyhow else exiting this lair. It is a loving home for this dragon that cares about her deeply and feeds her well. She does accept letters from other dragons, though, so if you just want to drop a letter, feel free to do so! | Obtained on October 3, 2019 after a lengthy discussion on her with her original owner all the way back from September 20, 2019. Her original name, Swallowtail, is now her surname for the sake of legacy and respect to her original owner and their generosity towards me as they absolutely blessed me with this remarkable dragon. |
Name Meaning: Elysia is a name that comes from the Latin Elysium, the destination of the blessed after death and equivalent to Christianity's heaven.
Brief Lore: The child of dreaded gusts, whose egg was found laying lonely close to the Sandswept Delta and rescued by IRIS's first gladiator, Sorian, who brought it back to his home Arcane clan. Given the ancient state of that egg drastically slowed down its development, nobody expected it to be able to hatch a healthy dragon. Still and all it happened. The girl hatched by the miracles of alchemy and egg-rejuvenating arcane scrolls appeared all slimy and sludgy, but happily moved her crests the day she saw the light.
Everyone accepted her slimy appearance as such. After all, the Arcane dragons are well-known researchers, so they treat such anomalies with unfeigned interest instead of despising or fearing them. She was happy growing among so much attention: by communicating with others, she kept extending her knowledge until she eventually became the Wind Battle Archmage and The Master Alchemist of her clan, offering to share knowledge to those interested in it.
Elysia's Pearls of Wisdom
I see, I see. So you have arrived here for some knowledge? You came to the right place then! Thing is, I grew among a lot of attention, and many wise dragons shared some information with one another. Wait, wait, wait. Did you just think I was tapping these conversations that are supposed to be private? No, no, not even a single bit! Dragons here in the Starfall Isles are as chatty as these hyperactive spiral folks at the Windswept Plateau, so nearly everything we say out loud in the conversation is absolutely allowed to be heard and spread wider! By adopting such an approach, we can let many dragons know about our inventions and thoughts, as well as collect opinions and advance further faster. Guess these folks from the Shifting Expanse should learn from us. As of now, they aren't always talkative, sadly. Oh, seems like I got carried away. Where were we? Ah, yes, yes! Knowledge.
Listen to some words I got from different dragons; those might be of use for you.
- Earthen creations are definitely my favorite to fight against. They are absolutely nothing for my windy powers! Moreover, I have such an easy time showing them who's the real boss that I'm surprised I've still not managed to bring home a Stone Borer! However, I'm working on it. I don't know why these wiseacres from the Lightning Flight and even plenty of the Arcane tend to fear them. My colleagues from the Viridian Labyrinth and the Sea of the Thousand Currents think these earthlings aren't the ones to be feared. We think these scaredy-cats need some training.
- Although I saw little of pestilential opposition along my journey, some folks like Elgar (as he resides a lot near the Scarred Wasteland), or maybe the revered mage and my spiritual advisor Mint that once was a part of these lands seen these quite often. Opinions on their combative threat are often controversial even among Mint's own squad. I mean, when she came back to visit her former home, we had a long conversation regarding battle tactics, and she told me that Plague itself ran for dear life when confronting her, and thus shouldn't be treated seriously. However, Carmi, another member of her crew who has the connection to the Shadow flight, never agreed on that point, telling that the Plague is the one to fear, not the one to laugh at. Even now, when the time did pass, I don't really know who to believe. Perhaps I should figure it out myself?
- Ahh, Wind is my sweet and welcoming home, both literally and figuratively. Everything, no matter if it is hostile or not, that is connected to Wind in some way will always be close and dear to me. Gaia, one of my most valiant backup warriors, feels fragile and vulnerable when near me or any other creature that is in close proximity with the Wind's elemental power for some obscure reason. Usually silent, she suddenly decided to tell me of mighty wind currents that are able to pierce through the very matter of the earth itself. It takes a couple of Aid spells in order for her to come back to her senses. Though, I can understand the girl. After all, I've met Cornelia, a close friend of Mint and Carmi, and a part of their squad, and she evoked a similar reaction in me. Water is something the Wind can neither perceive nor overcome, and thus I always feel exposed to it. I mean, Corny is a lovely companion to chat, but combat... well, combat is another story.
- Verily, any creatures of water, no matter shallow or deep, are the bane to the likes of me. Cornelia, a sweet cat-loving dragon that has a tight binding with the water element, does things to comfort me and even tries to set cats afloat on kites to catch them a couple of moments after. But it doesn't help as much as creating alchemical currents of wind and different feathers which make me feel comfortable with her company. When we had to discuss my reaction on Corny with Ceph, he told me that Vinny, his friend, an honorable historian, can easily pave himself the road against anyone elementally bound to water. I guess that's the truth, as I've already witnessed the power and the potential of ice magic. These Frost Delvers I fought were notably harder to take down than their counterparts, I must say, so if they dare challenge water magic, they might overcome them with ease.
- Lightning dragons are both our good allies and our comfort blankets. These dragons that represent the Lightning element in our lands somewhat fear the Arcane ones. That thing is just the same for them as I feel for the water element. That is true, Arcane and Lightning are in a long-lasting partnership in regards to science: ones are the masterminds of any operation, and others are craftsmen carrying out what was planned by their Arcane colleagues. Despite being physically more developed, Lightning creatures fear to oppose the Arcane, as these space-bound dragons seem to be able to peer deep at their very essence, disassembling and shifting whatever they like. Mint, however, gave me the advice to approach these dragons with extreme care. I guess Lightning does some real harm against her element?

The Color Guide
When in my workshop, I oftentimes entertain myself with a variety of casual experiments. Among them is the one I usually refer to as The Color Guide. Its ultimate goal is to synthesize the perfect colors to depict each deified element of Sornieth. As I gather more and more information, more and more samples, the current results may improve, but I have an odd feeling that it's already good enough to let you take a look. No matter if your background is dark or bright: these colors will serve you well!

A colorful, mysterious being with so much wisdom behind her eyes that another seems to have formed. She was so much fun to draw that I kind of got a little carried away. The world may never know what she's concocting, and that might be for the best. |
