❤ A R I E L Farseer Traits Romantic | Breezy | Capable Relationships Wife: Nova | Father: Oberon About Ariel is a perpetually cheerful person, prone to making romantic gestures and eye-rollingly sappy comments to her wife. There are more skilled fighters, but her magical abilities mean she is good at anticipating and avoiding her opponent's movements. Magic Where Ariel's powers are purely visual, seeing things she has no natural reason to be able to, Nova's are focused much more on divining and relaying emotional intent. She is especially skilled at picking up magical abilities and will often catch the edges of the visions and prophecies of Water's many oracles. Occupation Peacekeepers, Nova and Ariel patrol the skies above the Tsunami Flats. They can stay aloft for days, utilizing Ariel's farsight and Nova's telepathy to keep the way clear for travelers and send news of enemy movements to the Tidelord's armies. Family Ariel and Nova were the first dragons to make use of the Half Pint Inn's rentable nests to hatch and raise their children, starting the first of what would become many ties to the inn in the years to come. Ariel and Nova are sent to the Tsunami Flats as Peacekeepers in service of the Tidelord, meant to watch for and report civil unrest or enemy movement.

While there, they hatch the first of several nests, using surrogate fathers. Since they have no suitable lair of their own, they use the Half Pint Inn's rentable nests.

Nova's friend Enceladus, whose health is always suspect, falls deathly ill. There are no local healers capable of helping him and the more skilled healers near the Spiral Keep are overly busy due to an increase in skirmishes on Water's western borders. Nova watches in despair as her friend diminishes before her eyes.

Enceladus has a vision of a healer capable of helping him. Nova, keeping such careful watch of him with her telepathy, manages to catch some of it. The location is distant, with a desert between it and them, but it seems to be their only chance.

Ariel goes in search of the healer so her wife can continue to nurse their friend to the best of her ability. She takes her father Oberon with her instead. They hire the guide Voski to help them navigate the strange dry lands far distant from the sea, where their water-based magics are greatly diminished. The journey is fraught with hardship and battle. Voski saves their lives on multiple occasions, and Oberon manages to return the favor at least once. The three of them become very good at watching over each other. Oberon and Voski especially become close.

Ariel and Oberon find and return with the healer, Caladrius, who is successful at saving Enceladus, though he will never be considered healthy. Her talents hold no sway over the magical abilities that have long ravaged his mind. Caladrius, seeing the great need of her homeland, chooses to stay in the area. She begins to use the inn as a location for her pop-up clinics.

Loch is born to Oberon and Calypso. They both have the ancient magic of the sea in their blood, and on the day Loch hatches there is a wild surge of magic throughout the land. It is immediately obvious that the water magic Loch possess will overwhelm him if he is left without training, just as it did to Enceladus. Fortunately, with the help of his mother, Nova, and Oblation, he is able to learn enough control of his abilities to live a near normal life.

Some time later, Enceladus has one of the rare visions that coincide with enough presence of mind that he is able to share it with someone else. He alerts Oberon that one of Oberon's descendants, Mistoffelees, is in need of a home. Oberon takes the boy in, raising him in his isolated ice cave den but with frequent visits to his Great-Aunt Ariel. The boy grows up loved and well cared for, though the isolation of Oberon's home leads to a degree of shyness and naivete in him.

Loch meets the nature spirit Horizon. Their children are more magical construct than anything. They are heavily tied to water, with their mother's wanderlust. When they reach maturity, they scatter through the currents beyond the sea, settling at all corners of the world. So it is that some years later, Horizon finds one of her granddaughters in Wind and sends Loch to meet her. Sidhe comes back with her grandfather, curious to meet her extended family.
