I. Salford and Glacis's eggs were found by Aislinn and Arcano, and the two dragons took them in to raise. Salford and Glacis would spend their days exploring and pulling pranks on other clan members, to the point where Empress Morrigan almost exiled them. But Aislinn promised her children would behave.

After his mother became Empress, Salford became very good friends with Wezen. He also found himself spoiled by the empire. They loved him, and gifted him the finest jewels, the best picks of food, respect from every dragon in the empire. Despite his penchant for hoarding priceless objects, Salford was always calm and collected thanks to his sister. As such, his parents declared him as the Emperor Heir, and the other members of the clan accepted him without question.

As heir, Salford's rule was rarely challenged, but when it was, it was most often by Abbas and Vedran, who both believed that they deserved to be heirs more than Salford did, as they were more pure-blooded than he. The Coatl managed to prove himself, however, when he defeated the Mad King of War Ivarr in a duel, subduing him and bringing him back to the clan not only as a prisoner, but also as a friend and a new Lord of Warriors.

II. After several years, Salford found that he still had not found a dragoness he loved. He had a few flings with dragonesses that resulted in hatchlings, but it never went any further. Salford feared that he would die without heirs. That the glorious line of O'Sheridan could end with him. That was... until he met Roshanara. Salford immediately knew she was the one for him.

They met at Roshanara's welcoming dinner. The entire time, Salford found that he couldn't take his eyes off Roshanara. She captivated him, entranced him. Trapped him in her claws of love and devotion. After the dinner, Salford approached Roshanara to speak with her. He kissed her talons, sang praises of his eternal love and devotion for her. Though Roshanara was a bit off put by how quickly he fell, she was charmed by his personality and was willing to give it a try.

So they courted, despite opposition from her adoptive parents. They kept it a secret for as long as they could, but of course a secret like that doesn't stay hidden for long. Eventually the entire clan knew that Salford and Roshanara were courting, and while Aislinn supported it, Ren and Dana soon found out and expressed their disapproval. They believed that getting involved with the O'Sheridan family would only result in heartbreak and despair for their daughter. Despite this, Roshanara continued to see Salford, showing her love for him. So the two lovers went about their days, their love shown to everyone in the kingdom. Ren and Dana eventually realized that because of how much their daughter loved Salford, they should leave them be. Every dragon believed that Salford and Roshanara would be the best Emperor and Queen consort that they'd ever seen if recent years. They felt safe and loved by them and were excited for the day they'd take the throne.

III. Yet as years passed, Salford felt unfulfilled.

He didn't enjoy the pressure of leading a clan. Salford often got into arguments with Jupiter, who hated the Coatl's lack of care for his family. Salford often brushed this off, but found that he needed to focus more on his family as time went on. Roshanara was eventually with two eggs. However, when their hatchlings grew up they decided to leave the clan rather than stay. Salford was depressed, but finally saw that he needed to step down from his position as High King.

So he did.

The members of his clan were surprised at Salford' decision, but understanding after he spoke to them over why he must go. He apologized to his mother, telling her that this wasn't something he wanted to do. Aislinn was disappointed, but understood nonetheless and told him that he would always be her son, whether he was High King or not.
