· biography ·

Ainur was born to a clan quite closely allied with Auroral Dissonance, and in her early years, she trained with her father's trainer, who made her into quite the warrior. She fought and led against Legion, the dominating force that worked against Auroral Dissonance, but through the years she grew weary and tired, and soon found herself helping train new recruits in the war rather than have a place on the front line.

This was fine by her - she was no stranger to Legion's cruelty, and found herself rather willing to take on new recruit for the luxury for taking them through the training fields and up into the Mire, bringing each and every one up to fighting fit standards. She laid a myriad of clutches with several mates, none of whom stuck around afterward to see raising their clutches up.

Ainur didn't mind that, of course. She was far too busy for a commitment like a full mating. Besides, most of the males she had bred with were not up to her standards, and even as she got older, she never let herself settle for anything less than the best.

However, at one point she was requested to rejoin the battle against Legion, and she agreed on the promise that she would lead her own battalion of hand chosen warriors. Lasgalen, the leader of the guard for Auroral Dissonance, agreed, and so she set out hand picking her warriors. There were some that were young, but hardy tanks, and others that were Night Warrior rogues. Each one was carefully hand selected from the many lineages of the world, and many of whom she oversaw as their trainer.

The day came for the battle, and it was fierce. Many of her warriors were lost in the fires and arcane blasts that Azir threw at them. Others were snatched from the air by the mighty triplet Imperials, and eventually Ainur came face-to-face with the irritable Shaco, one of the deadliest assassins she'd ever seen. The two met in battle, and their ferocity brought the people around them to a standstill, to the point where even the triplets took pause to stare.

It was only when both dragons lay tangled together that they finished their battle. Shaco panting with her jaw hanging by threads - Ainur coughing blood onto her paws. The two glared at one another, but the sound of the battlehorn blazed through them, signaling Legion's retreat. The triplets hoisted Shaco up and carried her away, to which she fruitlessly struggled until Lalwende reminded her that she was expendable.

Ainur decided that day, upon witnessing the loss of so many of her brethren, that she was no longer going to stand for it. When she recovered, she left Auroral Dissonance, choosing to set out away from there to find a new life, a new place.

When she stumbled upon Storm Reach, it was barely a town. It was more-so a dream than an actual town, and it was certainly in shambles. It was there she recognized Ophion and Kylas, two other members of Auroral Dissonance who had left in order to find a better life and different ways to fight against Legion. Together, they convinced her to stay, offering her the post as the Commander of the Guard, and offered to give her the ability to help a growing settlement.

Ainur eventually gave in, as the sea breeze was far too nice to deny, and the sand between her paw pads was nicer to feel than anything else. She made her home in one of the caves, and as time passed, she felt drawn, she felt her charge was close.

Into the town there strayed a rather strange Imperial who looked as if he was trying to get away from something - anything. As she approached him, she felt her charge snap into place and she realized he was her charge. His protection was her new priority. After speaking to him for some time, she realized he was a hidden prophet, a deathless creature who had given a prophecy of the Royal. He was a gift from the Gods to their world to fight against Legion. Upon realizing this, Ainur immediately took him under her wing and began to look after him, giving him a home and a job to do to keep him safe.

As the years roll by in this comfortable lifestyle, Ainur is still vigilant on both her charge and her sights against Legion. She knows she was born to protect not only this deathless prophet but also to protect Kohana and anyone who fought against her, she would rip to shreds.

For now, however, she spends her time mothering and caring for those in town, protecting them from all things that would harm their peaceful community. Storm Reach is impenetrable as long as she is there.

··· ─── letters ─── ···

To Karlel and Ryluth,

It is with great joy that I am writing to you today. Your trainees, Erebor and Ainur, have achieved combat mastery and have graduated from our training school. While we have enjoyed their presence in our clan and are sorry to see them go, we are very proud of their progress and feel confident that they will serve you well in their new home.

In addition to their Familiar companions, whom they captured in their battles and have become very fond of, we are returning them with some small tokens of their excellence. As a symbol of Erebor's cunning and savagery in battle, the clan has gifted her a Red Birdskull Legband. As a symbol of Ainur's steadfastness and determination against overwhelming odds, we have gifted her a pair of Tarnished Steel Boots.

I wish you both the best, and it has been an honor to train warriors for your clan.
