Mara

Mara is a student of the Quarry's Circle of Magi and specializes in healing magic. More specifically, she seeks to use her magic in conjunction with her growing medical knowledge in order to be a doctor one day. Mara seeks to help others, and magic is, in her opinion, the best way to go about it. Magic may not be a miracle anymore, but it can still work wonders in the right hands.

Mara is a rather nurturing dragon, but she is also stern with her words at times, adamant on matters she believes important. She can be blunt in her words, but she knows just how to push so as to not break anything. Mara has proven herself quite adept at working in this way. She favours magical skills that help people directly like healing or transfiguration over destructive magics in most cases, but even Mara believes that a bone sometimes needs to be broken to be set right.

Mara is a student of the Circle alongside Ricca and Mauroban, as well as a few other students. She is a student under Nightfall (Sirius) and Stargazer (Catarina).

Early in Mara's training, Mara was tasked, alongside several other younglings, with prolonging the life of her clan's leader. At first, Mara was perfectly happy to use her abilities to help the leader. But, that leader was not who they seemed to be. Mara was there to listen to every confession and every slip in her leader's dying months. The stealing, the lying, the deaths; all of it. Several weeks later, the leader died from a Cancer of mysterious origin. The leader was the first patient Mara ever lost, and they were one of the only Mara has ever lost.

Mara is an assistant to the Quarry's surgeon Bones.
