Bacchus

Bacchus is the Quarry's Librarian and has been around since the beginning. He had been a traveling scribe and magician as a youngling, dealing with formal arrangements and messages between parties mostly. His work drew him ever farther from his homeland across to Dragonhome and eventually into the Starfall Isles. Bacchus settled near where my clan had first placed its roots and traded his service as a scribe and archivist for food and gold. Eventually, he just joined the clan and started doing more and more without promise of pay. He kept the clan's records and wrote things for those dragons who could not.

When the clan was forced out by another, more aggressive and larger clan, Bacchus had to leave his collection and everything he owned behind. He managed to lock it away behind a wall of crystal though, so it might still be there. Bacchus had been so terrified by the endeavor that he began focusing heavily on defensive magic. He was terrified and sought to extend his life. At first, it was simple things like healing magic and small wards that Bacchus began researching. When he had come to live in the current Quarry and gained a new place to forge his library, his habit went off the deep end. Bacchus has tied so many defensive and space-bending spells together around himself and his library that they are nearly untouchable. Physical and magical effects bounce right off Bacchus and the library can only be entered through the front door and nowhere else. Trying to dig in leads to a wall that can melt a diamond drill bit.

Bacchus employs Achaius and his Sister Soteris as notaries and collectors for new items for the Library. On top of this, he aids their research into both enchanting and history.

Bacchus is an Elder alongside Minerva, Orion, Nyura, Arnskar, and Ryzolli.

Bacchus is one of Lodon's few friends, and the two get along quite well. Bacchus helps Lodon with Lodon's injuries at times too.

Bacchus is sensitive when it comes to his memory. He is getting older and, though Tundra memory is finicky normally, his memory is declining quickly. Soon, Bacchus may succumb to this memory failure, but he is managing to hide it behind stereotypes of Tundras and behind magic.
