Biography

Malaise, Wise One of the High Council
"I... Survive..."

Malaise was found by Berry as a hatchling one day as the wildclaw was scanning her new homelands. The guardian kit had washed up on the unforgiving shore, cast out from her previous clan and disgusted parents. Berry soon found why. Malaise had no scales whatsoever; they had been rotted or ripped away by some sort of birth defect. In their place was mottled, patchy, diseased looking skin that was sensitive to the touch. And to top it off, what looked like blood had coated itself over the kit and seemed to be a permanent fixture on her body.

Being from the Plague lands herself, Berry took pity on Malaise, naming the young dragon and bringing her back to the clan to be nursed back to health. Danira took watch over her, asking for the Icewarden's blessing that this hatchling might survive as they have. Malaise recovered slowly and painfully, basic physical tasks exhausting her, but her spirit remained strong.

It became apparent as she grew to adulthood that she would never become a true guardian. However, her strength of heart and spirit made her wise. She closely studied Berry's methods and the actions of the other clan members, becoming a valuable aide to Berry and the wildclaw's decision making and quickly earning her a seat on the High Council.

Though her clanmates seem not to be bothered by her rather gruesome appearance, Malaise is tormented by her looks and thus tries to keep herself covered up as much as possible. In one rare feat for the pained guardian she requested assistance to show her former clan just how well she was doing. With permission from the Council she was escorted to her former homeland and found herself once more at odds with its denizens. Malaise emerged victorious, bearing the bones of those fallen to Starburn clan as a form of armor.
