A legendary hero said to have slain Medeus, Anri doesn't seem to feel anything of the sort. He's a ghost, now, it's true, watching over his baby descendant as he formed and began to run a clan, just as he'd done himself so long ago - but really, he was a lover, not a fighter; a simple countryman, not a king or leader. It's not his fault that he was chosen by the gods to wield a legendary blade, not his fault that getting said legendary blade involved going on one hell of a trip - hell, if that weird guy had maybe just, given him the blade he was supposed to be able to wield right away, rather than going on about "a test of strength and fortitude and worthiness"...

Despite calling Gotoh a "weird guy", he seems quite content to hang around and bother the sage. Maybe it's because he doesn't really have anyone left around who remembers him; he's the only ghost from that era to linger on. Maybe it's because he is a lover, and hoo, boy...
