Sheltered Breeze Research Center & Wildlife Sanctuary

Curtained by clusters of sturdy bamboo, a rough-hewn collection of stilted buildings sits sheltered from the whirlwinds. Chimes of every possible shape and material decorate the eaves, but their music is barely audible above the cacophony of birdsong that fills the air. Upon entering the sanctuary, one will find dozens of mesh-lined enclosures, rustic in nature but clearly designed for the comfort of their inhabitants.

Birds. Native and exotic, species collected from far and wide, chatter and caw to one another as they flit to and fro. Among them, Skydancers so perfectly camouflaged to the vegetation that one might mistake their movements for the rustle of wind through the reeds, busy themselves with the care of the creatures.

A wizened Nocturne greets you with warm salutations as you behold the sight before you. "You must be the new intern," she remarks, sizing you up with a look of satisfaction. "Well, let's get going- it's Raptorik nesting season and we're up to our necks in orphaned chicks. I hope you aren't squeamish- the little devils are voracious carnivores from day one!"
