THE GODSWOOD DRUIDS CLAN
Many years ago, three dragons wandered the Gladekeeper's domain. They had no homes, having departed their clans and family units to come together and form their own. Their leader, Eustace, was determined to find a place he could raise his children for the glory of the Gladekeeper, and keep sacred her ways of life and growth. The eldest fae was, by far, the most reverent of the three.
His mate, Eva, and their lover, Birch followed Eustace out of respect for his wisdom and after many weeks of wandering they found a quiet grove - in the middle of which had sprouted a young sapling. Eustace decided the sapling looked thirsty, and offered the young tree the last of the water he had been carrying for their trip. It was here, they decided to settle.
Of the three fae, it was Eustace who wanted to establish the borders of their clan, and contentedly remain in the protective shelter of the grove. Eva and Birch, fighters, decided it would be up to them to protect the clan - and Eustace - from outside forces.
Over time, other wanderers found the little hidden grove - a band of Imperials, specifically. They referred to the grove as a Godswood - and the fae who nurtured it a druid. The name stuck, and the Imperials remained, eager to use their knowledge and insight to help grow the ancient trees into the image of the Behemoth.
Children were born, wanderers came in and out of the grove, and Eustace nurtured them all. In time, his treekeepers became members of the Viridryad Guild; nurturers of the highest order. His adoptive son, Oakheart, a great guardian dragon claimed the small trees as his own to watch, and the small clan grew.
In time, as all things do, change began to stir the leaves that sheltered the dragons. Peleides, the eldest son of Eustace and Eva, decided that a small clan was not enough - that the Gladekeeper's agenda could only be furthered by more...and there were some who agreed.
In a desperate attempt to soothe the rising tension between his eldest sons, Eustace named his youngest - Darach - as his heir. Infuriated, Peleides' faction struck in the night, attempting to burn down the sacred grove. In the conflict that followed, Oakheart killed his brother's mate.
Eustace, heartbroken, retreated from active leadership; leaving Eva and Birch to exile their eldest son and his followers. In the time that has followed, young Darach has attempted to step into the position his father has abandoned - attempting, desperately, to pull Eustace out of his own despair.
And then, in the dead of night, the Seer appears before Eustace; a single message on her lips.
They are coming.
THE NEBULAE
Who are they? None of the Godswood Druids seem to know. Only Gemma, the Seer, had any warning of their arrival. No one knows what they want, or how long they plan to stay.
