The garden, for that was what it was, was no more than a simple clearing in the deserted ruins. A patch of immaculate golden flowers were in full bloom, and upon touching the petals of one, they shattered like glass. How such fragile blossoms managed to thrive here I did not know. All I knew was that there was ne'er a more comforting location to rest. I suppose that was my mistake, exhaustion leading me to disturb such a tranquil place. As I sat for a moment, a sense of slumber took hold of me, comforting me, beckoning me to enter the realm of dreams. Unbeknownst to me, the same voices that called me were the same ones of the ancient dragons buried under my feet, waiting for another mortal fool to join them in their thirst for immortality.
