Founded by a strong guardian named Mildred, the Crosswinds Clan is a matriarchal nomadic village led by female elders. Every dragon is equal and has the right to be heard and live happily. Drakes of any breed and element are accepted and respected. From time to time, the entire clan moves to a different location at The Windswept Plateau.

Visitors are always welcome and are granted food, shelter, protection, education, respect and entertainment for as long as they stay. However, they are expected to help the clan with whatever they can.

The dragon homes have green ethereal wispy clouds beneath to keep them floating above the ground. These mists are a result of Wind magic conjured by adept Wind dragons and they are useful for transporting the homes to different locations. Most lairs are made of bamboo and decorated with chimes, bells, banners, lanterns and pinwheels, but the lairs may vary a lot depending on the dragon living in there. Therefore, the village has a heterogeneous appearance. Usually, the floating homes are placed alongside the edges of streams of drinkable water. The sky above this nomadic village is always filled with dancing colorful kites and soaring dragons of different breeds and elements. When it's time for the clan to move to a different location, the dragons attach wind sails to their homes.

Dragons can be assigned to more than one role if they wish to. Nobody is forced into a role they don't want to be in.
