Lore

The Carnival was founded by a wandering trickster, who wanted to bring her tricks to the world around. She, Apate, brought together a troop who would perform and ensnare those who watched into the spinning reality of life.

It was a great spinning. Swirling, twisting around them, the lights, the music, the colors. Oh the colors! So bright and brilliant were the colors of the circus, like a drop of blood on fresh fallen snow. They thought there were others around them, but they couldn’t… Couldn’t see, couldn’t feel anything else but the red, and white, and yellow of the circus.

The shrill keening of the Calliope, the sound of trumpets and tubas blasting from every corner. It was so loud, too loud to hear anything else, for this was the circus. And they wouldn’t be getting out.
