Science fact tells us masking helps us physically protect each other, but in the midst of a mass death / disabling event coupled with mass abandoment, it is also suicide prevention. It is an active, visible indicator of who is welcome where, solidarity, and community care. These things matter to me (even here) cause I don't stop being a person when I log in to flightrising.com. In a world that increasingly excludes us, disabled people deserve to feel welcome, especially online. Knowing the people we're interacting with aren't putting our friends 6 feet deep is part of that.
