These changes are significant enough that we would like to [b]place the site into maintenance mode in order to implement them smoothly.[/b] These changes are in an effort to address [b]periodic pockets of site unresponsiveness that some of our players have been experiencing[/b] in the last few months. We anticipate that the downtime will be about [b]two hours[/b] (with a chance to go longer than that), so we wanted to make sure that everyone was notified and can plan ahead! [br][br][size=4][b]Automatic Alert Cleaner Deployment - Saturday, October 10[/b][/size] On [b]Saturday, October 10[/b], we will be deploying and enabling our alert cleaning process. This process (also outline in our last [i]Words on the Wind[/i] post) will run each night and perform the following: [LIST] [*][b]Alerts that have been read and are older than 30 days will be automatically cleared each day.[/b] [*][b]Alerts that have been unread and are older than 60 days will be automatically cleared each day.[/b] [/LIST] We wanted to inform the community far enough ahead of time to allow players to gather and save bookmarks for threads that they would like to keep archived. As some of you may have noticed, [b]we made an update last month that included forum thread names in the site's title bar[/b], so the process of saving meaningful browser bookmarks should be much, much easier.
