The clan's trinket crafter and secret archivist, Larimar could technically be described as a ghost, as his presence is a mystery to many of the dragons in the lair. Few have ever seen him and even less have ever actually communicated with him. This isn't their fault, but his. Larimar is a social recluse, doomed to simultaneously love and hate interactions with others. Hopelessly trapped in this contradiction, he has turned to quietly stalking his clanmates, as being near them makes him feel like he's socializing and being hidden makes him glad he's still a recluse. His clanmates are understandingly unnerved by the sensation that they're being watched. Well, some of them, anyway. The rest are intrigued by the idea that there might be a ghost in the ventilation shafts, but fear the creepy melody in there enough to stay away. Thanks to this, and the occasional glimpse some dragons have of a glowing thing in the vents, there are now rumors of multiple ghosts, and unless we get an exorcist, nothing is stopping the Arcane portion of the clan from launching an expedition into the vents and probably blowing up the lair. It's a pretty big portion. "It's my duty to protect my clanmates." He told her. "That includes you. And don't think I haven't noticed you sneaking out." He added sternly. Aradia said nothing, her body tense and ready to spring. She'd heard enough about Mordred to know that her advantages over the night were not enough against him. Besides, he knew that she'd been sneaking out. That was enough reason for her to be still. "I must practice my magic." She said. "I don't want another accident like last time." "Even though you might draw the attention of enemies?" "And why is that of your concern?" Aradia growled, eyeing him suspiciously. If he wanted to drag her back to the clan, she wasn't sure she could fend him off. Mordred stepped closer, and Aradia no longer had any doubts he could see her. "You put yourself at risk." He said. "I can't allow that." For some reason, that set her heart racing. "Why would you care?" Mordred was quiet for a moment. Aradia stepped further into the shadows, but his burning stare remained on her. "Because you're always alone." He finally said. Aradia froze. Emotions boiled inside of her. Her cheeks felt hot. Embarrassment? She wasn't sure. Was he mocking her? It didn't sound like that. He sounded...concerned. An emotion she was not used to seeing expressed. "You know what they say about me." She forced herself to be sharp and cold. "I don't play along with others. I'm creepy. Besides, I don't like company. I prefer being alone, and that's something you have no right to be poking your snout into." His voice was disgruntled. "Of course I don't. But I've been watching you long enough --" He caught himself here, cleared his throat. "I mean...during the nights. Sometimes I patrol the cave you train in. I wouldn't...I didn't..." Aradia's cheeks turned hotter still. This Imperial had been watching her nighttime activities? She scrambled her mind for something to say, but came up with nothing. She thought she should try to be polite. After all, he was trying to help, wasn't he? "Listen." She took a deep breath. "I'm grateful that you're watching out for me. I truly am. But I am Bloodmoon. I have powers others can only dream of having, and I must learn to control it. I must train myself, and it cannot be within the lair. So I have to come out here." She raised her head and met the Imperial's searing gaze. "You have my gratitude, but I won't allow myself to be kept away from my training spot." Mordred's eyes narrowed, and Aradia suddenly found herself upset, afraid of the disapproval in his eyes. She shook her head angrily. Why should she care what this dragon thought? But still...a voice inside her whispered, pleaded, pounded against her chest... "Go." Aradia blinked. "What?" Mordred extended a wing, backing up. "I won't stop you if that's what you want." He said. Was that warmth in his voice? Aradia felt dizzy. "Though you'll have to pardon me if I continue to see it my duty to protect you." It took a moment for Aradia to reply. "You...don't you have other things to protect?" "I do, but..." He swung his head away and gazed up at the moon. "Please give me the honour of protecting you. It'll make me feel better." Aradia wasn't sure how to respond to this. Her heart broke into a sprint, and she battled for her composure. "Thank you." She edged cautiously out of the shadows. Mordred didn't move.
