Alivere, I imagine, is a joyful and carefree dragon who loves to explore. There are a lot of holes in the vague story I came up for for him, but I’ll give you as many details as possible. He was the earliest permanent member of my clan ever (except the progens) so his longtime inclusion could be acknowledged in some way! He loves the fish that often follow him, fascinated by the light reflecting off his scales. He prefers to explore in the somewhat shallow water, where light still filters down. (I’m a Water clan.) Alivere’s eyes are significant: he was born in Shadow, and he really didn’t like the trickery. He did not believe in underhanded gain and wanted to help people and be helped. Since he is a spiral, many shadow members dismissed him as chattering and air-headed, when really he had rather wise insights about the world which went unappreciated. I was thinking perhaps he tired of the every-dragon-for-themselves approach of the shadow flight, and left for the Water realm, having heard how wise tidbits such as his are valued there. He wanted to believe that dragons could rely on each other and use each others’ strengths in combination, so he went off alone, searching for recruits in the shallows of the tide pools. He is, by no means, the ‘sole’ leader of the clan — no other dragons of mine have lore yet but I consider his role to be ‘founder’ instead of ‘leader’. Those responsibilities he would humbly offer up to a more capable, orderly dragon who can issue commands and make decisions, which he has a hard time doing. He is excellent in the coliseum as a warrior due to his being in the area the longest, and due to defending himself in the more hostile Shadow, so he is admired among his new peers (though Alivere insists that this admiration be met equally with love and friendship, not wanting to be anything close to an idol). Some flaws of his are that he’s not the most assertive to others, and doesn’t have an easy time making decisions. His humbleness also manifests as weakness sometimes, as he isn’t cocky enough to make himself look invincible to threats.
