I wanted to get art of my boyfriend's character and mine as well ^^
I would do a halfbody couple pic with shading ^^
My examples:

Le characters:
Titus, 7'5" teasing werewolf boyfriend. You can draw him with or without wolf ears, but he does have tan/caramel skin but no tattoos! He also has a small group of freckles on the bridge of his nose ^^

Luna, 5'1" Soff girlfriend. She has a gem in the middle of her chest that's a dark blue tourmaline (Indicolite). And her other eye (the one not shown in the ref) is much much lighter than the shown eye! If you want to draw her human, she has tan skin, freckles in the same places as her ref, the same eyes, white hair, and black nail polish.
