To prevent that from happening again, I've jumped on board to help Henry out! (Hello everyone I'm After and I like G1s.) Here's how this is gonna go: [LIST] [*]HenryTheArcher will be doing the fun hatch party stuff in the main thread and adding the dragon info to the spreadsheet. [*]Users will get to add their names to the sheet next to the dragons they're interested in. We'll give y'all a few hours to do this so we can decide what's getting auctioned or not. [*]I will ping everyone to this thread to let you know auctions/sales have started and list the auction details. The important info will also be on the spreadsheet. Any dragons with only one username by it will be marked as Reserved for that user. If they're still interested, they can make an offer to buy it directly. If not, their name will be removed and the dragon goes back up for grabs, first come first served. [*]During the auction, I will be keeping the spreadsheet as up-to-date as humanly possible. Changes in a dragon's status will be noted in the Status column: [LIST] [*][size=2][u]Auction[/u] - the dragon's auction is active and bids can be made. There will be the current high bid and current high bidder in columns next to this. There are no autobuys, so Auction dragons cannot be immediately Reserved.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Flatsale[/u] - means you can make an offer to buy the dragon directly, first come first served. The dragon will then be marked as Reserved for you, and your offer will be listed on the sheet for Henry to check later. Flatsale dragons without offers at the end of the auction will be moved to Last Chance.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Last Chance[/u] - free to the first person who wants it. Last Chance dragons will be exalted if no one claims them by at least an hour before the next hatch run. To claim, just ping me with the colors of the dragon you want and I'll mark you down for Henry to send the CR.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Paused[/u] - the dragon's status is currently up in the air. It indicates something went wrong and we're trying to figure it out.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Reserve[/u] - means that only one user had their name next to the dragon, so it's on hold for them to either make a flatsale offer or retract their interest. Reserve with a currency amount means it's been claimed and is awaiting Henry's confirmation. Reserved dragons cannot be claimed by anyone else while reserved.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Auction Reserve[/u] - the dragon's auction has ended and it's now on hold for the winner.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Last Chance Reserve[/u] - means a user has claimed a Last Chance freebie.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Home Found[/u] - the dragon has been transferred out of Henry's lair and is no longer available.[/size] [*][size=2][u]Exalted[/u] - self-explanatory.[/size] [/LIST] [*]At 19:00 server time, all non-snipe guard auctions will be finalized. I will ping everyone listed on the spreadsheet to ensure that they know those auctions are over. [*]Snipe guards activate if a dragon is still getting bids starting at 18:30 server time and extend the auction by 30 minutes from the most recent bidder's post. Any snipe guard auctions will end when their guards expire. [*]Once Henry's online, CRs will be sent out, people will get their dragons, and space will be cleared for the next hatch run, when the cycle will begin again. [/LIST] There may be varying breaks between the lair clearings and the next hatch run depending on timezone shenanigans and anything else going on (such as flight festivals, during which the event will be paused entirely). Because we're auctioning so many dragons at once, keeping a forum post updated just isn't feasible. Instead, the easy-edit spreadsheet linked in the first post will be kept as up-to-date as possible to reflect the current high bids and bidders, and any snipe guards in place. If you're jumping into things sometime after everyone else, checking this sheet will be [i]vital[/i] if you want to bid on/purchase a dragon. [*]YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE LISTED ON THE SHEET TO BID. Adding names to show interest is just how we determine which dragons get put up for auction. Even if your name isn't on the sheet, you can still bid on any Auction dragons and make offers on any Flatsale dragons. [*]PING THE (CORRECT) PREVIOUS BIDDER. The previous bidder will be listed on the spreadsheet, so you won't even need to backtrack through the thread to try to find out who it is. [*]LIST THE COLORS OF THE DRAGON YOU'RE BIDDING ON. Like I mentioned, too many dragons at once. I won't know who's outbidding whom on what dragons just by seeing the username ping and bid amount. You can copy the colors from the spreadsheet and paste them into your post. [*]DO NOT PING ME UNLESS YOU HAVE A QUESTION/CONCERN/ETC. I will be keeping a close eye on the thread already, but pinging me only for questions and such will let me keep track of posts I actually need to respond to and also prevent my alerts inbox from completely exploding. I will be very blunt: [color=red][b][size=6]YOU CANNOT BACK OUT OF AN AUCTION FOR ANY REASON.[/size][/b][/color] I don't understand why, but this has happened too many times now and quite frankly I'm tired of it. This causes a lot of trouble each time it comes up, and I'm not going to deal with it anymore. When you bid on an auction, you have effectively bought the dragon until such time as you are outbid. If you're going to bid at all, make sure that you: A) actually want the dragon. B) have the stated FUNDS for the dragon. C) are going to commit to those funds being essentially unusable up until you either win the auction or are outbid. [b]From here on out, anyone who wants to back out of an auction will not only still be required to uphold their bid unless OUTbid, but will ALSO be banned from further participation in the round [u]and[/u] in future auctions/sales.[/b] I am not going to be sympathetic if you decide you no longer want a dragon right in the middle of an auction. If you want to pass your high bid to the previous bidder, tough luck, you're stuck with it unless you're outbid. [b]If a bid is made, we expect you to uphold it.[/b] Please please PLEASE think twice before bidding if you're not sure about paying a certain amount or if you might not love a dragon as much as you think you do.
