I got an error page when trying to brew shards. Using up to date firefox on a windows operating system. This was the error

Were the shards brewing anyway, despite the error? If so, it's because you double-clicked and that's currently handled badly.

Vendrus When I was finally able to get the page to load, yes, shards were brewing. Though I dont recall double clicking, it could have been it

When I don't get to brew for a while and my "Do you wish to continue?" hangs on until rollover, I get errors about something-something-commit. However, then the "Something's gone wrong" persists and I usually can't get a brew started until I get a clean Baldwin tab.
Also, the physical mouse or the operating system might send a double-click sometimes. Especially if they had a good soaking recently** :D
**the physical mouse, that is. I've never managed to soak the operating system.
