I hate for this to be my very first forum post, but I just had something weird happen.

I hadn't clicked on any ads or anything, was just sitting on the main page when suddenly I was sent to a page that was obviously a virus pop-up - my antivirus blocked it from fully loading but like... I don't think that was supposed to happen lol. I've never had it happen before on this website and it concerns me.

I've had it happen twice now on FR, once today and once either yesterday or the day before.

It's possible that what you experienced was the result of a bad advertisement (since some bad ads don't need to be clicked in order to trigger).

Here's the advertisement report thread in case it happens again!

FR does not have the ability to control every ad that is put through to it's website since the ads are hosted by a third party (hiveworks, iirc) so if a bad one manages to sneak through then the only way to deal with it is to report it so that Hiveworks (or whoever operates FR's ads) can remove it from the line-up!

If you wanted to test to see if it was an ad or something else, you could install an adblocker and see if you keep getting the forced redirect with it turned on!

You don't have to leave it on of course but it'll help you know for sure whether it's the ad or something else causing the issue.
