I always keep a FR tab open for ease of access. Recently, I come back from work and find that the tab has crashed.
Apparently, it's the sheer number of ads that my adblocker is fending off. In the space of five minutes, the AdBlock reported 25 ads. By contrast, another page of a similar type of website has been open for 12 hours and has blocked a total of 5 ads.
So for a lark, I shut AdBlock down on Flight Rising to see if that stopped the tab from crashing. The good news is, it did. The bad news is that the incredibly high refresh rate of advertisements kept bogging down my memory and a couple of them even redirected me to one of those "your windows version is outdated" virus sites (I wish I knew which ads they were so I could report them).
I like having a tab open for my favorite sites, because otherwise I tend to forget to visit them. But if this site continues to throw an obscene number of ads at me, I'll have to limit my visits.
