The symbol is by the third hatchy rather than the 4th that has the special eye. Thought I'd mention it.

unsure if it's a known bug or not, It's an issue with positioning that special eye symbol.
I've seen multiple topics about this issue but not seems to be fixed.

Ah, I wasn't sure if it had been brought up yet or not. It actually confused me for a hot second cuz i was looking to see where the special eye was LOL

Bumpin' this, as the most recent thread of this, with my own nest:

Notably, both this nest, my own, and the two other threads I can see [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/bug/2853893#post_2853893]here[/url] and [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/bug/2723472#post_2723472]here[/url] all have the actual hatchling with special eyes on the second row, with the last hatchling in the first row ending up with the marker, so I presume that the bug is an issue with the second row of hatchlings. All the special-eyed hatchlings I'm seeing with the issue are the fourth rather than fifth hatchling, so that could also be related.
Also interesting (and potentially not related at all, but possibly), between all these nests, none of the hatchlings that incorrectly received the marker had common eyes. (3/4 were uncommon variants and 1/4 unusual)
