TOPIC | Nuzlocke- Time to shed many tears

Hello! Welcome to ToxicHeart's nuzlocke, I jumped on the bandwagon after only being a part of this website for a month. I stole my rules from @Lagmonster
My tumblr is here
The thread that started it all
Pinglist: @lagmonster @kingofeli @khoshekh @sylphofpens @kallastromuel
RULES
1. Dragons cannot be bought, only hatched.
2. Eggs can only be scavenged or found in the coliseum. Unless the amount of dragons in the lair falls below five, they can no longer be purchased once a month.
3. Scatter scrolls cannot be used on dragons below level 25
4. A dragon cannot be given a primary gene until level 10, secondary until level 15, and tertiary gene until level 20.
5. One breed change may be purchased for every egg found gathering or in the coliseum, and can only be used on a dragon the moment of its hatching.
6. Food cannot be gained through gathering, only the coliseum.
7. Exalt for coliseum death.
8. Nest Hatching: For every hatchling, flip a coin. If tails, the hatchling has died, exalt.
9. Coliseum cannot be reloaded to avoid death, you have to use the flee option and take the hit to energy.

Bonus Round:
1. Dragons can only breed if they are reasonably sized to each other. *Yup. No fae/guardian babies.*
2. Keeping true to lore, adult guardians must leave for their Search, never to see their original clan again. Any guardian dragon born into Rising Embers will leave the clan after they reach 2 months *FR time* of age.

Lagmonster inspired: PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Things like familiars and obtained eggs should be documented if they are found in the coliseum or scavenging, and other than the one egg purchase allowed per month, neither eggs nor familiars can be kept unless found and documented like this. *That means no Pinkerton! No chests! Those ones get sold.*
Now everyone get ready to cry.

Our leader, a fearless, tiny fae. It made me smile. “Just... Becareful.” I reminded with a sigh. “Those paths are so... Dangerous.” I looked at the pair who had adopted me, standing at opposite ends of the cave entrance, once so in love, now so bitter. “We'll be fine.” Toxy's mate assured, a large mirror. He was fine with the fact they would never have a nest, they more enjoyed each other's company than anything. “We should be back before night fall.” And with that, the group of 16 dragons took to walking down the slope away from the cave. I curled around the three eggs that Rapture and Aquata had been waiting to hatch. One had been found while hunting for food, the other two Aquata had laid. It was going to be a lazy afternoon, with all the familiars taken care of, and just eggs to look after, I was able to sleep for many hours. When I awoke the sun was setting, and I moved to stand by the mouth of the cave. I waited for ten minutes at a time, cycling between the eggs and the entrance of the cave. I paced until it got dark, and then I waited by the entrance, watching, hoping for the return of my family. I waited for hours, and when I was tired I hung upside down from the entrance , wrapped in my wings. It wasn't long until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, and I drifted off into a dreamless sleep. The next morning I was awoken to a gasping, a cry of pain familiar to me. I fell from the entrance and scrambled towards the bloodied figure I knew all too well. “Rapture...” I whispered and sat beside him. “Wh-what happened?” “We... were ambushed.” He coughed and looked up at me. “I s... saw them all... dead...” I shook my head, tears flowing from my eyes and huddling with my father, the man who hatched me. “Shhh, Bandersnatch. It'll be okay.” He forced a pain-filled smile. “You've gotta keep going... For me... For the little ones, have they hatched yet?” I glanced back to see two sleeping dragons, a spiral, like Aquata, and a tundra, that must have come from the shadow egg. “Two have.” I answered. “br... bring me to them.” He pleaded and I gave him a look. “Bring me them then.” “I will bring you the spiral, but the tundra is too large.” And so I retreated into the cave and brought out the small male tundra, who's hide was speckled, like his mothers. I carried him close to me and set him near his father. He seemed to recognize him, as he put his tiny hands on Rapture's face and let a cry that seemed sad. “Little one... I will name you Aquilo, your name means Northern Wind, be swift.” Rapture whispered and pressed his forehead to that of the spiral's. He smiled at me, and I saw the light waning from his eyes. “I love you, my son. Keep the clan alive.” His breathing was labored. “Keep your brother safe.” “Father... I love you.” I whispered, and I took his clawed hand in mine. “Please, don't leave.” I begged as the tears rushed down my face. “Rapture, I need your help, I can't... I can't!” There was no answer, his hand had stopped gripping mine. “Rapture? Rapture!” This raised an anguished cry from the hatchling, who looked at me. What was I to do? I couldn't bury my father, not so close to home, I couldn't leave the hatchlings... There was a river, not far, and Rapture was from the water territory originally, so I did what seemed natural. I grabbed his body by the tail, and though it took me a good half an hour to drag him, I put his body in the water. “Farewell, father.” I whispered as I watched him float down the river, cleansed of the blood that had stained his body. Then I was back to the hatchlings, and the nineteen familiars who seemed to know what had just transpired. They all seemed so... grim. The tundra sat watching them, head tilted and then looked at me. Already she was three times my size, this was going to be... Very interesting indeed.

@ToxicHeart I love how many Nuzlockes are starting with nocturnes as their focus! The little dragons are so interesting to learn about, it's nice to be able to sort of get inside their minds. :3

Also, the fact that the nocturne actually hung upside down like a little bat is the cutest thing ever to me...

But still, so sad. D: It's just the nature of a Nuzlocke to have to begin so sad. At least he had that sweet moment with his father instead of having them all vanish without a trace, but so bittersweet...

Pinging @Khoshekh, because until they tell me otherwise, every time I see a Nuzlocke without their name on the list, it's going to happen. >.>

I was going to have them all disappear, but I wanted him to have SOME explination. It is just so sad, he's such a sweet thing. At least he has a spiral to keep him company, and a Tundra too.

@kingofeli It'll be okay, i promise! :D Bandersnatch will be an excellet leader, and I am adding you now.

@KallaStromuel I'm glad you like him, he was my favorite and I just didn't have the heart to let him go. I hope for a fae in my next egg, because I REALLY want him to have a cute little fae mate.

@ToxicHeart hmmm...a fae lover, I don't particularly favor them but that is all I seem to get. My Nuzlocke has just started with only one ping list member and one entry. I wish you luck in your fae dragon egg hunt, and please add me to your pinglist.
