Creative Corner

Lore note: This Pinkerlocke sticks to canon as much as possible. However, in this story, Gaolers and at least one other ancient breed are assumed to come not from the beginning of the Fourth Age, but instead from the First Age. This change is for a number of reasons, partly because it just makes more sense to me.

Rules
-This Pinkerlocke will mostly follow the rules here. I'll be doing Coli stuff on easy mode, except for death streaks of course.
-Any reader can call "dibs" on one of my dragons. If that dragon "dies" (or leaves), instead of being exalted, the dragon will be sent to that person.
-If a dragon does not have "dibs" on it and dies, I will wait three writing-days or two weeks or until the next major dom battle or until I forget for a while and then remember again before exalting, to allow for last minute decisions.
-This Pinkerlocke is more writing-centric than fighting-centric; some deaths and death streaks will be skipped if I feel like it. Will I tell you when I do that? Maybe. But probably not.
-At least one dragon fighting in the Coli during each food pull will be determined by RNG.
-A skin or accent can count for an apparel pull instead of a gene or vial. Unlike genes, though, skins don't HAVE to only be applied by apparel pulls.

She was already a strong swimmer, even though she wasn't even old enough for a name. Except. Through some quirk of biology, she is an extraordinarily buoyant dragon. This was discovered on her first adventure outside of the clan's walls, when she tried to swim out and floated all the way to the surface before anyone could catch her. With the unpredictable currents of the sea around her, she was miles away before the other dragons recovered from their surprise. The Snapper bobbed up to the surface, thoroughly confused. This was the Tsunami Flats, right? How did she get here? "Hey, watch where you're splashing!" She looked around to find a bedraggled pink Imperial sitting on a ledge. "What's a Fire dragon doin' in the Tsunami Flats?" asked the Snapper a bit imperiously. "What's a Snapper doin' splashin' around on the surface?" responded the Imperial. "I'm lost. I can't get back to my clan." "Well, so am I. Big deal. I can handle it out here on my own." "Izzat so?" The Snapper grinned and splashed the Imperial again. "Stop that! I [i]was[/i] headed north, but there's this big ol' ocean in my way." "You're headed north, I'm headed nowhere. Wanna go somewhere together?" "I guess. But only if I can, like, ride on your back or something across the water." "Excuse me? You're almost as big as I am already!" the Snapper tried to say, but the Imperial had already jumped on her back. The Snapper sighed. Well, she was still floating - might as well. She started swimming across the Sea and into Light territory. ----- "Look, there's another dragon out there!" yelled the Imperial. "Where? I can barely see a thing," responded the Snapper, squinting in the glare. "Over there! A little white dragon. Heyyyyy!" shouted the Imperial, running over and getting the dragon's attention. "Whaddaya want?" said the Mirror. "We're travelling somewhere! Wanna come?" "Where?" "North!" "Well, that's where I'm headed too. Sure I'll join you, but only if I lead. My name's Marla. What's yours?" "Well... we don't really have names yet..." mumbled the Imperial. "The light's shining off your scales about as well as a dull rock. I'm gonna call you Shimmershale. Shimmer for short, I guess. And your friend over there can be Leftrin because she's on my left right now. There's your names. Now let's go." ----- "ANOTHER ocean??" Shimmer cried out. "Relax, that's just the Evergreen Strait. Look, you can see land across it, it's not that big," Leftrin pointed out. "[i]I[/i] can swim across, I'll bet. Leftrin too. What're you gonna do, Shimmer?" Marla asked. "Shimmer can ride on my back." "Are you kidding? She's bigger than you are!" Marla shook her head in amusement. "Good luck with that. I'm swimming." Shrugging, Leftrin hopped in the water, Shimmer on her back, and followed Marla across... to the Labyrinth.

"OK, well, now what?" asked Shimmershale. "We live here! Make a clan of our own!" Leftrin's eyes widened. "Why would we want to do that? We should find a clan that's already here. I saw the signs of one a moment ago." "If we go to a clan they'll just ask where our parents are and drop us back in our own clans. What else can we do? Let's just live here, there's plenty of prey and stuff." Marla said matter-of-factly. "I didn't see any other clans," Shimmer observed. "What did you find?" "Here." Leftrin pulled a waterlogged brown shape toward them. "That's not a sign of a nearby clan, that's the sign of a - " Shimmer was cut off as Marla grabbed the thing. "Ooh, what's this? It looks like it's supposed to go on a foot or something." She tried to stick it on her hind foot, but it was too small. "Oh well, maybe it's for Faes or something." Shimmer giggled at Marla, the object hanging off one foot as she sat in the sand. "Alright, let's set up camp here for a while, at least. I know that at least one of us can't go home at all, so we might as well stick together." They all made small talk as they wandered around the forest, gathering resources and finding a nice little area between two streams to make their new home.

Marla asked, confused. "You can hit just as hard as the rest of us, but you're just letting yourself be attacked." "I'm just not used to fighting yet I guess. They can't really hurt me that much anyway, if I'm prepared for it. Anyway, I attack sometimes! Why are we out here, anyway? We could get hurt." "Well, YOU won't," muttered Shimmershale. Marla whacked Shimmer with her tail. "We're HERE because if we want to live in the forest and be a clan we need to be able to defend ourselves. Now come on, I saw another moth over there, maybe we can sneak up on it." ----- Nothing too exciting happened in the Coli; all three dragons are level 3, almost level 4. Most of Leftrin's stat points are going into defense and speed, and for the other two I'm going by a semi-balanced stat guide that I used when I was a noob. Also MAN their eyes today XD Especially Leftrin and her big emotional Water eyes.

"Just because I'm Light - NO, I came here because I wanted to get [i]away[/i] from Light. I don't care about a glittery rock." "Well [i]I'm[/i] interested," interjected Leftrin, wandering over to where Shimmer was, theoretically, fishing. "Ooh, that's granite. May want to be careful - that could mean there's a Thresher upstream." "OR it could be a rock," Marla huffed. "Have you actually caught any fish yet?" "Duh." Shimmer gestured to a large pile of fish, plenty for all three of them. They didn't all have to eat fish, of course, but they all liked it and it was Shimmer's favorite type of food, so they fished. Sometimes Leftrin would forage for herself. But today Leftrin was helping Marla make sheltered nests for all of them. "Remember, none of us are full-grown yet," Leftrin reminded Marla, adding another bit onto Shimmer's area. "We gotta make these plenty big." Shimmer suddenly called out from the edge of the river. "Help me carry this fish back, guys!" Leftrin and Marla trotted over and picked up some fish, bringing it all back to the clearing. Shimmer carried her new rock over to her new sheltered nest and displayed the fragment in a prominent spot. Marla rolled her eyes.

Mmm. Waiting for an encounter with a big fat thresher. I think this is an interesting topic (and also yeah, their eyes on 4/1).

So, is there a stat guide that ISN'T for noobs? Because I guarantee I've been using the noob one. ^^;

@vOceanic If you're just trying to get a level 25 grinding dragon there's this guide. But it's not great for this kind of thing because I need dragons that can take a few hits, and I'm also not going to give them Eliminate and other expensive stones if there's a possibility they'll get exalted.

Oooooh, thanks. I hadn't seen the guide for training the two unleveled drags at once. Exciting. ^^(Also, I totally feel you about the exalt part, though I haven't run into that problem yet).

@vOceanic And yet if I get apparel from Pinkerton and can't breed two dragons I'll totally be willing to buy a gene scroll for one of them...
I may have to exalt one at some point because of the main rule of any type of FR Nuzlocke: If a dragon is defeated in the Coli, it's dead and must be exalted.
