[center][font=verdana][size=5][color=846690]I've really wanted to start writing a novel recently rather than just my usual commissions, but I don't really have any ideas of how to start. I don't want a short prompt, but rather an idea that can be heavily expanded on or a general plot to build off of.
I prefer Horror, Fantasy, Adventure, Dystopian, and Sci-fi if that helps at all! I really do need some good ideas and I would even be willing to hand out a gold, dragon, or item prize to the ideas I really like or end up using.
(the prize will be either a pretty dragon from my non-permanent lair section, a limited item such as an old fest item, or 40-60k treasure, all depending on what the person prefers I suppose)
I'll pick and choose the winners anywhere between a few days and a week at the latest, and if you'd like I can even post the writing that eventually comes from it!

Hm, I've always wanted to hear more about what would've happened if the Aztecs or the native americans got modernised before the europeans did?
(So like historical cyberpunk/steampunk or something?)
I mean it's a pretty niche sort of topic, but you could definitely add onto Native american mythology and put like a futuristic spin on that stuff?
(Maybe like a combo between these sort of mythological stuff, and tech?)
Plotwise, I'd love to hear about ghost/monster hunters in this context, or just a sort of high adventure story.

I dunno, the main problem I have is that I can't come up with original ideas. The potentially novel length story I'm writing right now is a fan fiction, which is unfortunate. I'm not even half way yet and it's already 25k words.
I love those genres you put there, I just can't come up with any good ideas.
I had a strange idea about a world where everything, from what's for lunch to the next president, is determined by fighting. Like actual fighting with weapons, bloodshed, and death.
Oh you don't agree with me? Draw your sword!
And they keep fighting until one party gives in, or is killed.
The only problem is that I didn't know where to go from there. Why is society like that? Do parents kill their children? Are there any laws at all? What do the police do? How do the people cope with the injuries?
After that, I just gave up and dived back into my fanfic.
But if you can do anything with it, feel free to ping me! I'd also love to read bits of it.
