Spirit Bonds Lore


Spirit bonds are very rare, but they do sometimes occur. When a dragon and a human have compatible souls, they are able to create a spirit bond. They share one body that can change between human and dragon form. They must sign a contract with the god/goddess of either chaos or peace (depending on their alignment) to bond to each other spiritually. When they switch to dragon form, the human's conciousness remains within the dragon's spirit. And when they switch to the human's body, the dragon's consciousness remains withing the human's spirit. The physical body is in control. They can communicate to each other telepathically, and they feel each other's pain and emotions. These spiritually bonded two were brought together to help protect the world from terrible evils that lurk in the shadows... Once spiritually bonded, the two acquire powers. Could be super strength, poisonous bubbles, or even being able to control bugs! There are no limits.

In this world there are 2 sides, some take sides and some don't. On one side there is Heiwa, the goddess of peace. She is an all powerful dragon said to be the very first dragon of them all... Alongside Konton, the god of chaos. He is also an all powerful dragon. These two dragons are what bring spirit bonds together, Heiwa senses the good in dragons and people and when she finds a pair she knows can spiritually bond, she appears with the spirit bond contract. And with Konton, he senses the evil in them and does the same.

Sometimes when a dragon and a human's souls bond, they acquire traits from each other. So if the dragon has golden eyes, the human might have them after bonding. And if the human had a scar on their eye, the dragon might inherit that. They can also change into half dragon half human, which usually has the human form, the dragon tail and wings, dragon scales, and dragon's eyes, but forms will vary. Some will even be able to change between their parts separately, like being able to have the human body and just wings, just claws, or just the eyes, etc. (But this is rare and can only occur after the two have trained hard to get very strong)

You could use any human character for the spirit bond, even yourself!

Please don't use this lore on your dragons without my permission. I will be using this lore with my hatchery kiddos at Taro's Hatchery. If you would like a dragon with this lore, check there! You should have a registered dragons section to keep track of everyone! And perhaps maybe the trait is inheritable, like only certain pairs have the power and their bloodlines?

Also, maybe a RP forum, that sounds like fun!

Now that I've got one of these guys, I've got a couple of questions, if you don't mind:

1.) Do spirit-bonded humans get the same power as the dragon they're bonded to, or do they get a different power?

2.) How common are humans vs dragons in this world? Do the two species live together, or do they inhabit separate parts of the world? Are humans invested in the Konton/Heiwa conflict?

3.) Do Konton or Heiwa require anything from pairs they spirit-bond? Are they drafted into the conflict between the two, or left to their own devices.

1.) Yes, the same power! They share a body and share the same power :3

2.) Humans are a bit more common than dragons, and in some places they live together or seperate. It all depends! And yes, some humans are invested in this conflict, others would rather stay out of it because they're scared. But different kingdoms do different things about it, some will even declare a side they are fighting for.

3.) They don't exactly require anything from them, but say Heiwa spirit bonded two, she would love if they would join her in the fight but she wouldn't make them. Konton is a little more strict about it and if you don't fight for him he will not care if his army kills them or not. It's kind of a fate thing, when the two meet Heiwa/Konton can sense it and will come in spirit to have them sign a contract. After they are spirit bonded Konton will usually not check back in on them unless they are one of his favorites, but Heiwa will watch over most of her subjects (especially her favorites :P)

Hey! I picked up Epsilon for a light seraphim breeding project and I adore her. I also find your lore to be absolutely interesting and was wondering if I'd be able to mix our lores a little since my lair is an SCP-style rehabilitation facility.
