Hello! I'm working on a piece of artwork, and have this idea, but no clue how to really... execute it. Here's the sketch!

I have. No clue. On how to color cliffs, or even draw them in a good looking way. If anybody has any tips, please let me know.
Feel free to draw over anything anatomy wise.
any critiques and kind words are appreciated and encouraged <3

What program, what is the base color of the rocks?

I have no pronouns. Please do not refer to me.
I'm using fire apalca, although i do have a few custom brushes that make blending easier.
And I have no clue, but I was imagining a canon/mesa area.

I've looked at that many times, they don't help all that much! I appreciate the thought <3

I love your idea; I could red line the anatomy for you if you'd like. As for the cliffs- you already have a pretty good base for them, try looking at various photos of cliffs to figure out the details

I would love tracing for better anatomy!! The reference picture I used however was of a fawn instead of an adult deer, so that's why things may look rounder and chubbier.

I don't know where the original ref went, I'm so sorry for the subtle blue lines!

No worries, the ref works fine!
The first thing I did was trace over the proportions in your drawing (top) and compare them to the reference:

We can already see that the body is too short and the legs are too big, you will probably be able to fix it by yourself from there but I did a draw over anyway because I love drawing deer
