I made this for my personal lore and as a way to keep track of what is going on and where, who, why. I’ll shove all things dragon-related here, mostly I’ll keep updating the three posts made for each of the clans my lair contains but don’t be too surprised if there’s small stories or to-do lists somewhere for what I’m supposed to do next.

Please note, that me and hallinhammas build our lores together, so her dragons will be mentioned here and there, as they are important part of my lore as well!

the Dynasty of Kuunvaara, named and built to honor the memory of an ancient spirit Kuunvaara herself - who also reincarnated and joined them. They have been through a lot, please just give them a moment to rest.

the Court of Death, antagonists in the lore and formed to collect together all sorts of malevolent beings - spirits, dragons, whatever. The court is led by spirit of paradoxes, Hazarmaveth. Who has a beef with Kuunvaara. Things get very messy sometimes.

Alamaa, formed of outcasts and exiles that the spirit of lost causes, Iltavartia, has gathered together. They are nomads, and are very indifferent towards outsiders as nobody has any nice experiences with them. New lost causes are welcomed though, and where as others usually look them badly and see Alamaa's dragons as thieves and criminals (despite them being nice) they have allied themselves with the dynasty.

Rajantaka, hidden in a mansion on the Shadow territory lies an underworld, a resting place for the fallen - or so you'd want to imagine. In this gargantuan mansion and it's cellar lies a completely hidden world, where the dead rest, while some serve the inhabitants of the Rajantaka mansion... Though, most cannot keep the glory of their former form, and now continue on as skeletal beings, while still sentient and their true forms hidden behind an illusion of their former appearance.

A young wildclaw, trained to be the next leader from a young age heard the stories of Kuunvaara from her adoptive mother. Inspired by the legends, as her mother, Univelka and Shokkiterapia deemed her ready to take the lead, things changed. Her ambition brought a lot of good in a quick time – only in a few years, their lair grew to be able to hold many others, the trading between other clans had never worked so smoothly. That’s when reincarnated Kuunvaara arrived to the dynasty, though the spirit was not somehing others had expected it brought hope, motivation for everyone. Trauma herself learned to be less intimidating, to be more open towards the concerns. The dynasty got itself back on it’s feet, but Trauma’s cold and harsh nature had already caused friction among their relationship with the longnecks residing too close to their territory. During years, the tension grew and grew into another full on war. With the help of dragons the longnecks gained, the dynasty once again was pushed away from the Southern Icefields, but not without a great cost. So many losses, and to the empress’ shock – her dislike towards the light was well-known – the parliament voted them to move on the Lightweaver’s domain. The things are finally looking brighter to the dynasty – literally – as they have settled down and rebuild themselves, but the wariness towards the strangers still exist. But nothing that time would not heal, as everyone slowly and surely recovers from the losses of theirs. Where as the parliament meets regularly to discuss things happening all around the dynasty, their relations towards outsider clans and where to improve, when met with a crisis situation it all comes down to the parliament. They are all trusted to deal with it as smoothly as possible and make the hardest decisions for the others to keep the dynasty and it’s dragons as safe as they can. The members of the parliament aren’t voted in, but they come all from the higher positions or are otherwise necessary for the ways to go smoothly. For example, Trauma and Kuunvaara are there as the positions of the empresses, where as Kiiraslapsi is invited for her title as the high priestess and the main healer of the dynasty. Their group got larger than Härmä expected and so they decided the name for themselves – the Duskhunters, as they still tracked off shade creatures to get rid of them as quickly and efficiently as possibly. It took ages before their reputation reached further away and Härmä encountered her old friend, Kuunvaara, the first empress of the Dynasty. A pleasant encounter for both of them, but the skydancer wasn’t there for only to see a friend, oh, no. She laid on the table her offer – the gaolers would get a permanent residency from the dynasty and start working for them, gaining a payment and all the benefits of the dynasty’s dragons. Years have passed since the first dynasty centuries ago met it’s ruin after the death of the first empress, KUUNVAARA, her legend has stayed alive among a few dragons. As stories told to children, no written texts left, only the rumours and urban legends carried on.

As UNIVELKA and SHOKKITERAPIA built together their first clan that welcomed everyone to rest with open arms, they had no clue that TRAUMA would change everything. A young wildclaw, trained to be the next leader from a young age heard the stories of Kuunvaara from her adoptive mother.
It was never expected her to take on the stories, but young and ambitious Trauma took it as her personal goal – to rebuild something beautiful, something that lost it’s shine a long time ago.

Though Trauma’s determination brought many positive things to them, they never came without an underlying issue.
The new empress held a bitter heart in her chest since being only a child, so as a young adult, with a lot of power, it manifested itself. Paranoia, dragons of certain clans were under continuous watch, the trust of the empress became harder and harder to achieve.

After the first war, that forced the dynasty to move from the Tangled Woods to the Southern Icefield turned her worse – more wary, the start being such a misery and stress to everyone.

The Parliament

Despite the empresses being the last ones to make the decision and the common folks trust in them, Trauma’s opinion being valued higher than Kuunvaara’s own, the dynasty has formed a parliament to make the biggest decisions together and to represent the common folks opinions on how things should be done. Due this system, the empress(es) can be outvoted by the majority and forced to rethink the reasons behind their decisions and is there something to improve, what to do differently to gain the majority of votes.

Also the leaders of the mercenary groups, Härmä and Korpinkantaja, belong to the parliament.

Not in a perfect condition, some buildings barely even livable, but they’re enough to bring protection from the weather for those who happen to wander through. Temple of Kuunvaara
Is it only a legend, or a real place that exists? Many have wandered through the Southern Icefields in an attempt to discover the lifetimes old shrine and find their inner strengths from the temple, to find anything to help them in their desperate situation. Though long forgotten, only rare remember to speak it’s name anymore. The Mother & Her Aspects ~ WORK IN PROGRESS, MORE INFORMATION COMING ~ Many things are spoken and speculated of the entity mostly known as the Mother, even such a basic question of does she even exist? Or if she exists, is she still out there somewhere? How does she look like, what element is she, all kinds of questions are thrown around by the scholars, causing disagreements and even fights. The most common version of the Mother is thought to resemble an ancient imperial dragon, who has been there even since the beginning of the universes, before even planets and stars existed. That all kinds of dragons, no matter how they look or what their element is – all the dragons originate from the Mother and her ancient creations known as Her Aspects. It is also thought that the Mother resides somewhere deep in the Fortress of Ends, but there is nobody to confirm this theory – and considering how well she avoids others, if she even exists, it might never found out where their Creator exists. The communities that still remember the existence and traditions of the Mother tend to be strictly matriarchal, yet everyone are equal as they are all creations of their beloved Mother. Still, the common folk is nowadays only rarely taught about the Mother and the aspects. The information is difficult to get, unless their clan is or has been devoted to the beliefs of the Mother – as time has passed, many things have been forgotten or disappeared. The Aspects The Mother’s aspects are made of her image, every aspect representing one of the existing elements. They are shapechangers, just like the Mother is thought to be, and can show themselves in any existing breed, ancient or modern, depends of the situation. Their imperial form is the most common one they show themselves in, considering the Mother is thought to resemble an imperial dragon. The Aspects have very variable personalities, but one thing is in common with them – it is thought that every single aspect shows at least one similar personality trait with the Mother. For example, where as the wind aspect is extremely laid-back, warm and welcoming and the ice aspect is cold and unfriendly, avoiding others by the best of her abilities, the Wind represents the Mother’s wish they could welcome others with open arms and the Ice shows her unability to do so. It is also worth noting, that not all aspects are based on elements. For example, the aspects of Life and Death exist, not to forget about the aspects of terror or dreams. Specific Aspects can exist, but there is only one to represent their domain. Then there are spirits, who can resemble similar things to the aspects, or just part of their domains, and there might be multiple spirits to represent the same thing, only with little differences. ~ WORK IN PROGRESS, MORE INFORMATION COMING ~

Many things are spoken and speculated of the entity mostly known as the Mother, even such a basic question of does she even exist?

The Aspects

The Mother’s aspects are made of her image, every aspect representing one of the existing elements.

The most of the time aspects stay on their own elemental domain and near their temples or other sacred places, but it is possible to encounter an aspect outside their temples and sacred grounds. The best way to learn of the history of the Mother and the Aspects is straight from them, as the Mother’s attention is difficult to get.

The spirits walk among the common folk, some of course preferring solitude over the large cities and kingdoms, or even small villages. Some spirits also want to keep their title by themselves – either it is to blend among the others or just understandable wariness, it doesn’t matter. There are three types of spirits – ancient, moderate and young spirits. The ancients usually are almost as old as the aspects themselves, or at least have spent centuries, maybe even a millenia, fulfilling their role as whatever their domain has tasked them to do. The moderate spirit’s age is very variable, as they can gain power through their domain. Some spirits might represent something, but haven’t gotten around to prove themselves enough, or they are classified as young by their age, but have been way more active and true to their purpose. Young spirits then are both young and haven’t done much to prove themselves – yet, at least. Another way on how spirits become to exist is known by some rare folk – and they are long rituals, usually made by other spirits to preserve the life they deem worthy. Only very seldom the rituals are made by regular dragons, as it is very taxing and the knowledge is difficult to get. During the ritual, a common dragon can ascend into spirithood and they stop aging, gaining some insight over the things only the spirits and the aspects know about. They become young spirits, gaining more experience and power during the years and by the achievements they go through that represents their domain. There is also a world, where the spirits can exist in peace, far away from the common folk. It is only accessible to the spirits and no mortal has wandered there – at least there is no existing records of it. It is not an uncommon occurence, where the spirits fight each other as their alignments and domains clash so badly against each other. As usual, the personalities of the spirits may wary a lot and cause issues between the spirits – and escalate. Some spirits and their completely opposite domains can compliment each other. Everyone is welcomed there, from every domain of the alliance to all the invited outsiders, to the ones still looking for the right House they want to settle in. Despite the usual elements in any House, it doesn’t stop the members of any element from settling down in any House they feel the most like home in. The Houses have their own elemental nobility, with own ranks to every element, but one thing is in common with all the Houses – they have a House Representative. It is a respected title, and still comes with all the workload as you are the Head of your House, everyone believes in what you are doing and shoves all the responsibilities on your shoulders. To some, it is an honor. To others, it is the worst fear coming true. The House Representative is a title a dragon gets born, as they have control over at least the two elements from their respective House. Not everyone want that and all the work that comes from it, and it isn’t unheard of that someone hides their elemental skills to keep themselves away from the duty. Still, there is never only one who has the control over multiple elements. It is rare, yes, but it is not an impossible task to find a replacement for the representative, if they deny the offer or anything happens to them. As the Alliance is built in the belief of the Mother of All Dragons, and her aspects, they are considered quite matriarchal - usually the nobility is filled with feminine dragons, but as everyone is thought to be equal, nobody is stopping a masculine-presenting one to climb up the ranks and gain fame from their actions. It still doesn’t change the fact that the Alliance is mostly led by two queens and an empress, and all three are aspects of the Mother. Of course it doesn’t mean that everyone is religious – everyone can believe in whatever they wish, it is only enough that they acknowledge their higher ups. If not for their spiritual title, then their authority. Every House has a duke/duchess, count/countess, baron/baroness and lord/lady. The duties of the duke includes overseeing provinces the House’s domain is shared into, taking in all kinds of complaints from what the lower nobility has found out. They are the second in command of the House matters, right under the House Representative, and are a helping hand in their superior’s assignments. The family with high militarial success might receive the title of a dux. The count is also known as a military commander, but inferior to the duke. Usually the duke holds the position as the highest judge in the law, and they have the right to either undo a sentence given to a criminal or add more to it – of course with good enough of reasons. They are the highest of the law, making sure that the judgement is equal to everyone and they oversee given sentences and local prisons. Their responsibilities also include many of the internal affairs inside the House, and they take complaints from the baronesses and ladies. The baron and baroness have pledged loyalty to their superior, the most often the House Representative themselves and have gained land in return for their succesfully completed duties they are given. They oversee all of the villages and towns inside the Houses, and bring any concerns their villages have to the hearing ears of other nobility. How about the lords and ladies? They are a step down from the barons, overseeing their own villages or towns, a small city at maximum, and they are more than ready to give soldiers if needed. They represent the concerns of their citizens and bring them to the attention of their higher ups. There is also other nobility among the Houses, but those are known as the main titles that matters. Hierarchial system in the Houses are their own and they can make the most of decisions by themselves, but if any issues arise, they are responsible for the local Queens, the aspect of the day Päivätär and the aspect of the night Yötär. They usually handle both internal and external affairs, depending how busy the Empress of the Alliance is.
