Title says it all. I was using autodesk sketchbook because it was free.

Switched pcs and it's no longer free as of July, so I'm out an art program, and would rather not switch pcs every time I want to draw.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Krita is great, but can be resource intensive on some computers. FireAlpaca is my go-to right now. I love how simple and customizable it is. GIMP is another good option, it's similar to Photoshop and also a free program. It has a lot of cool filters and whatnot for more graphics work, while Krita and FireAlpaca are more illustration-oriented.

I've been pretty happy with Krita. I'm new to digital art so I am still in the learning phase, but Krita has some nice brushes and effects, and there are lots of YouTube how-tos. I also use Sketchbook and to be honest I like it a little better for doodling and working out basic sketches, but Krita is the way to go when I feel like working in color.

Firealpaca is pretty cool! Also believe Medibang is available for PC

It's created by the [url=https://userbase.kde.org/What_is_KDE]KDE team[/url], who also create one of the best non-Windows, hugely accessible desktop environments out there. They have dozens of free, open source software available for users to work with/change/distribute. Krita has been around since the late 90s and has over the years developed a very warm and welcoming community with its own forums. They're always open to feedback and contribution from any users -- most of the program exists as it does due to the contributions and feedback of the community! :^) (It also has an adorable mascot - her name is Kiki! Clearly this is of dire importance. [emoji=fae winking size=1])

Medibang is great and free! I used it in highschool and still use it now and has never let me down.

Another vote for Krita! Firealpaca is the most light, but also has less features (still enough to draw but nothing fancy). Its big brother is Medibang, which is made by the same company, but with a few more features.

Firealpaca: japhers.
Medibang: clockbirds used to use medibang, but has since moved to photoshop. Here's an old speedpaint.
Krita: David Revoy.

I've used them all and Krita is closer to my style. Right now I'm using Clip Studio though, so idk what they've been up to lately.

I'm gonna throw another vote for Krita, but Medibang has an extremely feature-rich mobile version that's also free, if that's something you're also looking for. It's what I used for digital art before I got a tablet (rip to my days of using my finger to draw >.>)

Oh I almost exclusively use Krita so im biased towards that as well lol
