So when the colorwheel dropped, Sapphire was right away my favorite. Navy was always good but sapphire was just a dark, rich blue and those are my favorite kinds of colors, and blue is especially one of my favorites to begin with.
Being a genone hoarder, I obviously wanted a genone with sapphire, and eventually it led to me wanting a double sapphire, XXY being the most preferred.
So I started dragon searching for sapphire dragons and saw someone hatched a double sapphire with a lovely, workable tert! I clicked, and he was way out of my price range (as expected) so I just commented on their userpage telling them how lovely he was just to compliment such a great hatch!
Well, the next day, when I woke up, I had a delivery CR from someone I didn't know (at the time I hadn't realized who it was) and I saw it was this little sapphire/sapphire/goldenrod with arcane eyes and a first gen! He was the boy I'd complimented and they just gave him to me because I liked him and they were hardly online so they wanted me to spread the love. Since then, I've really been trying to do that, gifting people where I can as a thanks for this huge act of kindness!
I had the boy of my dreams, and I managed to get a WC at a great discount through a trade, even after pointing out the price deficit, and I managed to get metallic and runes via trades and such, as well as nightsky silks! However, I didn't have anything left to pour into this boy's genes and only had 200g to my name and nothing was selling for weeks.
Christmas rolls around, and I realized through all the people I'd messed up and forgot a friend, so today I gave them what I had even though it wasn't really that much, and they were so kind and knew I had been needing facet for this boy and gave it to me and now he's finished and I'll be honest, I cried just a bit. It was just such a sweet thing and my irl life has been very stressful and this little dude just...it really helps. He's part therapy derg now, lol.
Anyway, here he is! My darling boy (who I scrapped the funds together to get a matching vista for, lol.)
A huge thanks to @sheepston for gifting him in the first place, it means so much to me I don't think I could express in words how much, and the same goes for @Phosphorylase who gifted the facet scroll and completed him! Again, I don't think I can express in words the gratitude I have for that.
Anyway, I'd like to see any dream dragons you have, or dragons that came from someone's generosity! Like a gift!
