I'm very conflicted on which forum this belongs in, I apologize ahead of time if the staff doesn't agree with my choice!

I've got myself two lovely first generation Imp's who have been around since the game started, I've decide to start breeding them (again). However I don't know where to start as I've been away for a long long.. long time. I'm here to ask everyone their opinion on my choice of genes for these two beauties!

Now obviously they have not been scrolled yet so I'm open to recommendations! However I'm incredibly fond of [i]Bee[/i] and [i]Opal[/i], they both provide a sense of elegance and mystery. I feel like [i]Bee[/i] makes the dragons feel sort of galactic, what with the twinkles everywhere. [i]Opal[/i] also reminds me of just a pure energy, magical in my opinion. Then comes [i]Skink[/i] which I find adds a fun element and breaks away from a basic primary, however with over 30 minutes of playing with primary genes I feel as though only basic works well with the secondary and tertiary genes. I kind of threw Skink in because I like the way it looked with the primary color options and potential for an awe inspiring offspring.
Anywho enough of my babbling, what do you guys think about my plans?

As far as sales go - gem genes are immensely popular, followed by newer treasure genes, and then the rest. Basic is a turn-off for most people, unfortunately.
I really like Skink, but with a wide breeding range it's a bit hit or miss with the accent color. That said, you have a lovely pair there and I'm sure their babs will sell nicely!

Thank you Kavryn, I wasn't aware that a basic primary was that big a turn off, I really appreciate the info! I get exactly what you mean if I use skink, it has limitless potential if the secondary matches up with the accent.. however no one's got that much luck here lol

Np! With the much wider range of genes available nowadays, it's usually possible to find /something/ that matches, haha. It's one of the reasons I like both Opal and Capsule so much - the color gradients in them make them match a much wider range of dergs.
I also agree with geneing them how YOU like - all you have to do is advertise "pure g2 imps from 4-digits" and your babs will sell haha. You just might be able to get a higher price with "popular" genes.
Also - when geneing to breed, note that most gem genes have at most a 3% chance of beating a treasure gene. To make sure any babs wind up with gen genes, I'd recommend matching gene rarities on both - so both with treasure primary/gem secondary, for example.

- Butterfly
- Opal
