Dragon Share

I have a lot of dragons with weird names, like: [columns]SubmarineCone, whose name stems from the words "Submarine" and "Pine cone" awkwardly slapped together, but I honestly can't get myself to give her a less stupid-sounding name.[nextcol][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=36938031] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/369381/36938031_350.png[/img] [/url][/columns] [columns] [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=46553892] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/465539/46553892_350.png[/img] [/url][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=46553891] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/465539/46553891_350.png[/img] [/url][nextcol] CoronaAustralis and CoronaBorealis, who are named after the constellations of the same name and give me a difficult time trying to pronounce them correctly.[/columns] [columns]NewWoods, who is named after his mom Woods, because he has similar colors to her.[nextcol][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=38381209] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/383813/38381209_350.png[/img] [/url][/columns] And the list of names goes on... Now I'm curious whether other people also have dragons like this, so show me some dragons with odd or interesting names!

I don't have any extravagant names for my dragons because I know some people don't like novelty names in their dragons' offspring list (I do it out of consideration, not out of fear of backlash. I'm paranoid but not that much) But I do have Mewl [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=44894153] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/448942/44894153_350.png[/img] [/url] Because despite his attempt to act imposing and important, he's as intimidating as a kitty. Don't tell him I said that.

@FunnyFany I completely onderstand where you're coming from. I generally try to use names that sound decent, but I tend to go a little crazy with dragons that I bred myself or when they're given to me by someone who has a lot of crazy names themselves.

On another note, Mewl is really cute!

@LynxieRG On two completley different ends of the spectrum are Bettellglackt and Sharky. Bett, his nickname, is supposed to be a rose lich whom was poisoned by an enemy's clan to wipe out his original home, however, Bett was a healer and his bones were turned into tree roots, forever guarding where his clan once stood. The name Bettellglackt just reminds me of a really nasty plague, but I might change it, later on, to fit with his lore. He was really just an impulse keep after buying cheap hatchling fodder, I kinda see him as just a really chubby boggie just left sharking his way through life. He was going to be exalted if I didn't take him, and so he was already named when I got him. I've been meaning to change his name for literally almost a year now, but can't think of anything good. I'm tempted to keep the name just because I'm so used to calling him that ;w;

It’s pretty much made up, but it can possibly be traced to “of an axolotl” in Latin, perhaps referring to his pinkish and white colors. His name is just “cosmos” and “morph” put together. He’s also somewhat named after Morpheus from the [i]Matrix[/i] but has nothing to do with his character otherwise.
