But to make things a little more fun, there’s a bit of a story involved here as well as some art peppered in to spice things up! Please read along and wish me luck! They seemed to be squabbling, with the smaller of the pair speaking to the other in sharp hushed tones. “Mimic, this way come on! We’re late getting set up, we need those decorations!” The bigger one grunted and awkwardly bundled as much as he could of the strange assorted items into his little arms. Ribbons, jars of firebugs, and silly hats towered over his head as he struggled to carry as much as he could. His companion, who only had a scroll and quill in his claws, didn’t seem to notice the difficulty he was having. The smaller nocturne sat up tall and looked around, making sure no one was watching, then they both ducked into the thick thorns, through a little crawlspace only such small hatchlings could possibly wiggle into. The vines formed a sort of little tunnel that they crawled through, the bigger nocturne doing everything he could to compact his bulkier frame and hoard of decorations. Eventually it opened up into a cavernous space within the briar, where the vines had knotted so thick that not a single glimpse of the surrounding area could be seen past them. The hatchlings had already busied themselves with the beginnings of their decorations – jars of fireflies and fairies were strung up all around their hideout, like festive lights, with ribbons of all colors draped between them. In the center of the cavity was a large mushroom serving as a little table, covered in cups and saucers, and surrounding it were eleven dragon eggs. “Mimic, the hats! The guests of honor need their party hats!” The bigger hatchling shuffled through his collection of items to sort out the hats and made his way around the ring, bestowing each egg with a hat. The smaller hatchling looked on and nodded in approval when hats were chosen that he liked, or shook his head and insisted they be changed if he was dissatisfied. Feel free to ask to be pinged for sales! [b]Do I have to read all the writing?[/b] If you’re more interested in the hatching than the lore that’s totally fine! All are welcome to follow along. Comment, lurk, scry – follow the hatch in whatever way you like best! [b]Can I still post scries?[/b] Absolutely, please post as many scries as you want! I’ll probably do a little scrying as I go too, but scrying is the best part of egg hatching so please scry and please post them! Derailing the hatching to roleplay with one or two people wouldn’t be fair to anyone else that just wants to read and follow along, so I’d like to keep it to just my writing this time. A tiny horn poked out first and tore away at the shell to make an opening for the hatchling to escape through. The baby shrugged its way out of the shell, egg and hat both falling to the side. The small blue nocturne stepped forward and scooped up the hat, precisely placing it back onto the infant’s head. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” he shouted at the child, who blinked dumbfoundedly at the older hatchling. Mimic pelted the newborn with shreds of confetti.
