[color=green]A hamadryad is a Greek mythological being that lives in trees. They are a particular type of dryad, which are a particular type of nymph. Hamadryads are born bonded to a certain tree. Some believe that hamadryads are the actual tree, while normal dryads are simply the entities, or spirits, of the trees. If the tree died, the hamadryad associated with it died as well.[/color]

Secondary- green range colors (Preferably Jade-Moss)
Tertiary- any color except brown range colors, green range colors, and black or grey range colors

The Hamadryads were said to have died out long ago, as the trees they were bonded to died in one way or another so did they...but little did anyone know that the Greek goddess Persephone, wife to Hades, had been secretly hiding their souls in a mimic of Pandora's box. Keeping them safe. However she grew afraid of being caught by her husband and so she entrusted the box of souls to a mortal but extremely magically gifted dragon and told that dragon to bury the box alongside him when he died, never tell anyone about it, and NEVER EVER open it. He did as he was told. Years and years later, even as his own lineage forgot about him, there was born another dragon of his bloodline with magic just as strong as his. Little to her knowledge this dragon was drawn to the box by Persephone herself who thought now would finally be a safe time to have the box opened and the Hamadryads restored to life. This dragon was Ryn.

Ryn is a seemingly normal mortal dragon of the nature flight but she has a strange obsession with fossils and ancient relics and artifacts that were buried long ago that caused her to travel to earth flight territory where she now resides. This is because of Persephone's influence which is, unbeknownst to Ryn, the reason why she is obsessed with ancient objects and what drew her to the magical box that housed the spirits of the Hamadryads.

Appearance wise, hamadryads appear to be made out of hollow wood, their wings stretching out like tree branches and growing leaves. Unlike Gaolers, their wings are very large which makes them fully capable of flight like most spirits or fairies. Their manes are made out of leaves and vines and they usually decorate them with the shed feathers of birds that perch in their trees. Their tails are long and have branches like a tree, and said branches also grow leaves. Each Hamadryad is covered in magical flowers that never wilt or die, if a Hamadryad has a child without magic or a child that's flowers are wilted or dying that child is considered cursed and is exiled from their parents (and all other Hamadryads) territories despite being extremely close with nature The Wilted are considered outcasts. The eyes of Hamadryads eyes glow in the dark much like a cats regardless of their eye type and they are able to see perfectly fine in the dark as well. The more rare a Hamadryads eye type the more unique their magic is, this may also affect their personality.

Personality and ability wise they can be exceedingly powerful. Each is bonded to a specific tree upon their birth and they guard that tree with their lives...as if their bond with their tree means that if said tree is harmed then so are they. If a Hamadryads tree perishes then so does the Hamadryad it is bonded to. These trees that the Hamadryads are bonded to can grow to become three to four times larger than a normal tree and give off a distinct magical aura that can sense the intentions of nearby dragons, beasts, and other wildlife and this aura can induce terror in those who would do it harm. A Hamadryad can sense when something is nearby it's bonded tree but relies opon the tree itself to distinguish whether or not said thing has bad intentions. However is can be painfully hard to find a Hamadryad more less the tree they're bonded to since sometimes, full forests and plant life are magically grown by the Hamadryads to surround their tree, further protecting it.
All Hamadryads are very close with nature and enjoy the company of many animals both small and large, they seem to be able to understand many creatures and can often perfectly mimic the cries and calls of certain species and therefore call upon them for aid if the need arises. However, hostile or destructive animals are considered threats and therefore killed and eaten...
Hamadryads do not require food often and seeing one eat is extremely rare because of this.
When interacting with mortal dragons Hamadryads can be rather prickly, they believe most mortals incapable of understanding them because of their own immortality and are mostly worried these dragons will wish harm upon their bonded tree so most try to avoid mortals.
Other immortal beings are no more likely to earn a Hamadryads trust as Hamadryads are fearful of anything as powerful or as long living as they...among other Hamadryads however they show a much sweeter, almost childish innocence and are often very affectionate towards eachother. Rubbing noses or playfully nibbling ears is a common greeting when two or more Hamadryads meet.
In battle Hamadryads grow a full body coat of sharp thorns and can produce a potent venom that causes a painful rash and blisters almost instantly however some nature flight dragons seem to be immune to these effects.
