TOPIC | How do other G1 lairs do it?

How do you get treasure/gems to gene a bunch of G1 dragons? I mean I plan to go a few at a time, but my first project is 5kg alone to get his genes + accent. Ignoring all the apparel and his breed change. It takes a lot of time and patience. Cap your fairgrounds every day, keep Baldwin bubbling, and coli coli coli. That's a good looking scry you got there, I know you can do it! For a morale boost, here's my 100th completed g1 project I finished just last night! [s]Hatch Egss, be lucky[/s] Honestly tho, just a whole lot of coli grinding, especially during festivals and no impulse buys at all! [s]Ignore my egg hatches lmao[/s] I do get the struggle though ^^' This girl cost me 1mt, a couple of G1s and a lot of old fest apparel when she had bad colors Then 14 scatters, her genes and apparel, so around 7kg just for genes, scatters and apparel c:

What a pretty boy you're working on there <3 And I feel your pain, I'm a major UM collector as well as having a serious g1 addiction. I have a tab full of unfinished projects and some of those poor dragons have been sitting in there for a year because they're so expensive. :') But what Silverishness said is true - making regular use of baldwin, coli, and capping fairgrounds daily really adds up. To add to that, if you find something else you enjoy that can turn a profit, go all in. I run a hatchery because I love creating interesting pairs. Others make accents or adopts, run art shops, do lair reviews, offer leveling services, create custom outfits, or even write lore for profit. Heck, even playing the AH can be profitable. Just gotta find your niche, y'know. Anyway good luck, and I hope you have fun along the way! (btw here's my most expensive son thus far - about 19KG all together)

I started out my G1 collecting with the funds I had gathered from my hatchery pair's hatchling sales. I still run the hatchery because it's easy money (and I like creating beautiful pairs that I can actually breed since I refuse breeding G1s) ^^ The big bucks come from selling hatched G1s tho. I tend to do some heavy Coli grinding during NOTN and I hatch the eggs I gather in a mass hatch, and sell those hatchlings throughout the year. I also pretty much always hatch every egg I get from Coli in case I get a lucky color combo, but a more reliable way to make money with eggs is to simply sell them without hatching. I just like to gamble :P Aside from dragon sales, I also do the Fairgrounds grind nearly every day, and grind Coli every now and then. I also occasionally make accents, skins and art which brings in some sweet dragon cash.~ Here's my latest G1 project: Her total price after scatters was over 19k gems and that's just the price without all the art I bought for her. I had spent a lot of time to gather up that money but I don't regret spending it one bit, and that's what's cool in being a G1 collector :)

It helps that I don't care about outfits or accents. I concentrate on getting the genes and breed scrolls. Treasure genes are the easiest. I'm finally close to maxing my brewing level, so Baldwin genes are also covered, even if they take longer. Gem genes are the hardest. Only patience will get you there.

Grinding the Coli, maxing the fairgrounds every day. One big thing is that I am not big on dressing. If I dress at all, it is with items I have currently in my inventory, and a large portion of them are gained through opening chests.

I just coli a ton, a bit of luck and make art for fr money~ accents are a good profit if you can get into them, but it's really tough I really like the ridgeback you're working on, he looks super neat :0 this guy was my first ever finished g1 project, i got lucky with completing him so fast bc i sniped an xxy g1 as fodder and sold it for 2kg, and had a bunch of commissions

As others have said, it takes a lot of time. I don't play as much as I once did but in the past I was coli grinding exalt fodder constantly and being as smart as possible with what I bought and sold. Just takes time!

[s]avoid gem genes[/s] No but like everyone else said, do your daily grinding, keep impulse buys to a minimum, and honestly? You can find some pretty G1s for fodder prices that rival any doubles. Keeping the cost of the dragon itself down will help too. Nothing wrong with checking fodder! I bought this girl for 6g and she cost me around 500kt/g to fully gene up and breed change.
