Astarrea's Territory
In the Starwood Strand in the Starfall Isles is a section of woodland claimed and watched over by a powerful spirit (known as a kami.) Her name is Astarrea.

Even outside of the Strand, those who live near the woods are wary of her. There are all sorts of legends and folktales, warning dragons not to wander too deeply into her territory, and to always give her proper respect. Of course, there are those who do not believe the legends about the starwood kami...and then, when they do not return, or come back with their minds broken, they become the center of new tales, themselves...
Why is Astarrea so vicious, though? Is she an evil kami? Not at all! To those who respect her, she inspires breakthroughs to mental blocks, and grants intellectual clarity. She is, however, first and foremost, a guardian to the kodama in her woods.
What is a kodama, though? A kodama is a shape-shifting tree-spirit, similar to a dryad. They transform between their dragon and spirit forms at will, but a kodama's true body is that of a tree. If the tree dies, the kodama fades away. Each kodama's dragon and spirit form resemble their tree. (Though there are some kinds of lesser kodama who cannot wander as spirits. These kodama became kodama through some other means, and are not naturally so, hence their limitations.) They are fairly docile creatures, only desiring to live peacefully in their forest homes. They rely on their kami (much more powerful spirits who rule over their homes) to protect them, and follow their commands without question.
However, Astarrea only has direct rule over the starwood trees in her territory. And in Astrrea's territory, there is another kami. He is her husband, Sanmei, and he rules over a grove of sakura trees. This grove rests deep within Astarrea's territory, and though she does not rule over the kodama there directly, Sanmei is submissive to his wife's authority, as he and his kodama live within her greater territory.

If Astarrea inspires thought, Sanmei inspires emotion. He is a muse, and many an artist seeks him out, but he is very difficult to reach. First, one would need Astarrea's permission to see him, and then permission from Sanmei himself to enter his grove, which he does not leave. Permission is not easily granted, and if one offends either kami, a terrible fate awaits them.

Kodama
These are the primary residents of Astarrea's territory. Kodama are tree spirits, and generally harmless. However, under the direction of their kami, they can potentially be quite formidable. They are susceptible to damage from anything that could harm their tree bodies, including disease, fire, bugs, nutrition-sapping ivy, etc. Often times, a kodama whose tree is in danger will petition assistance from his or her guardian kami, who will then organize the resources available to him or her in order to assist.

Non-native Kodama
These are kodama who used to be dragons, but were cursed by the guardian kami and became kodama. These kodama are considered second-class citizens among their kind because the only way that one becomes such a kodama is through the kamis' curse, and part of the curse is that they are given a role of servitude. And this is because a dragon is only cursed if he or she breaks the law of the kami (usually through trespassing.) They are also powerless to resist the curse and any command given to them by their superiors. They have less freedom, too, and will generally be confined to Astarrea's territory.
Elements: Any (especially: Nature, Arcane)
Breeds: Any
Colors/Genes: Any, but must match at least 2 gene/color requirements from other kinds of kodama.
The kind of Non-native you have depends on what kind of Kodama he or she was turned into. For example, you might have a Non-native Upper Boughs Sakura Kodama (as opposed to an Upper Boughs Pure Sakura Kodama or a Non-native Regular Hoshizakura Kodama.)

Infected Kodama
These are kodama who were once healthy, but have contracted a highly-contagious disease, slowly killing the kodama and its tree. These kodama and their trees both are slowly rotting away. For the protection of the healthy trees, the kami have banished them from their fellows, and so they wander far from home.
Elements: Plague (ONLY. Also, Rare Plague shows that the Kodama has not yet fully succumbed to the disease, having some of his/her natural green still in his/her eyes.)
Breeds: Any
Colors/Genes: Must match other kinds of kodama except that they must look like they are rotting in some way (i.e., their flowers are rotting on the branch.)
The kind of Infected Kodama you have depends on what kind of healthy Kodama he or she once was. For example, you might have an Infected Upper Boughs Sakura Kodama (as opposed to an Upper Boughs Pure Sakura Kodama or a Non-native Regular Hoshizakura Kodama.)

These are kodama who used to be dragons, but were cursed by the guardian kami and became kodama. These kodama are considered second-class citizens among their kind because the only way that one becomes such a kodama is through the kamis' curse, and part of the curse is that they are given a role of servitude. And
this is because a dragon is only cursed if he or she breaks the law of the kami (usually through trespassing.) They are also powerless to resist the curse and any command given to them by their superiors. They have less freedom, too, and will generally be confined to Astarrea's territory.
Elements:
Any (especially: Nature, Arcane)
Breeds:
Any
Colors/Genes:
Any, but must match at least 2 gene/color requirements from other kinds of kodama.
Elements:
Plague (ONLY. Also, Rare Plague shows that the Kodama has not yet fully succumbed to the disease, having some of his/her natural green still in his/her eyes.)
Breeds:
Any
Colors/Genes:
Must match other kinds of kodama except that they must look like they are rotting in some way (i.e., their flowers are rotting on the branch.)

It can be difficult to decide on genes, colors, apparel and accents for your kodama. So, here are so example scries/outfits I made up to jump-start your creativity! (I only made regular ones, though. Maybe someday I'll scry up some boughs besides that one guy I have chilling as an example in the Kodama section.)

Shinobira
As is common knowledge, the Fae were created by the Arcanist, and are native to the Starfall Isles. They make their dens out of magically-cured tree sap, and where can one find more trees in the Starfall Isles than in the Starwood Strand? Perhaps it should not come as a surprise, then, that hidden within Astarrea's territory is a very old Fae village. This is the home of a clan of Fae called the Shinobira.
The Shinobira have lived at peace with Astarrea since even before Sanmei came to the forest. The priests and priestesses of Astarrea are always communing with their kami, divining from her what is acceptable and whatever orders she may have for them. Priests and priestesses are instructed in how to do this from a young age, and keep this role for the rest of their lives. Its is a highly honored position to hold within the clan, but not many are granted it. In fact, there are usually no more than five acting priests and priestesses at a time. The elder priests and priestesses hold the most power, being the most knowledgeable about the kami, and they have the highest authority in the clan.

Shinobira no Moribi, an Elder Priestess
The vast majority of the clan, however, are trained to be agents of stealth and precision. These hidden warriors know how to move about the trees of Astarrea's territory in such a way as not only to avoid detection, but also to ensure that none of the trees are harmed or bothered by their movements. Every clan member is taught this even with his or her first steps. If a child is not chosen to be a priest or priestess, then he or she continues on this path of the secret warrior.

Shinobira no Kisuke, current head of the Shinobira's forces
As mentioned, most of the Shinobira have the role of being active vassals to their guardian kami. Though Astarrea and Sanmei are powerful forces in their own right, a good part of that power comes from organizing their resources and mobilizing those under their command. One such force is the Shinobira.
There are many everyday tasks that have been delegated to them, such as making the rounds of the territory and killing insects that are preying on the trees. This task is particularly useful to the Shinobira in that not only are they pleasing their kami, protecting the trees of their home, and getting in some valuable training by which to hone their skills, but the insects they hunt are also their main source of food. Other roles they may be called upon to fill include protecting the Kodama from harmful animals, weeds, fungi, and beastclans living in the forest. They may also be called upon to quietly deal with intruders to the forest.
The Shinobira are extremely mistrustful of outsiders, and never leave the Starwood Strand. They only ever leave Astarrea's territory if told to as well, but that has not happened in a very long time. They are a closed, highly-insulated community. That said, there have been rare cases of abandoned Fae being adopted into the clan on their kami's orders.

Shinobira no Hirako, one such outsider who was raised by the Shinobira
The Shinobira are so good at keeping themselves hidden and Astarrea's Territory is so rarely traversed, that the Shinobira are largely unknown to the outside world. Very rarely, however, a dragon may hear from a member of the beastclans about something living in the territory. Some sort of hidden village of stealthy, deadly warriors who fulfill the kami's wishes...

Shinobira Requirements

Breeds: Fae (ONLY.)
Colors: They blend in with the shadows and the trees around them. Pink-range, purple-range, blue-range and black-range tend to be fairly safe bets. But, basically, think camo, but where all of the colors blend in to the previously-displayed Kodama.

Assignment
Shinobira will wind up working in an environment in which they blend in the best. They act not only as hunters but also as guards, and will communicate in a chain-link kind of way. Hence, there are many positioned all over Astarrea's territory at any given time. They work in shifts, too, but are mostly organized (at least directly) by the head ninja or kunoichi, who receives his or her orders from the priests and priestesses, who receive their orders from the kami.
Names
All Shinobira's official names start with "Shinobira no" but they do not use this formal title amongst one another. Rather, they call each other by their given names. Given the Shinobira's insular society, they do not have exposure to foreign ideas or names. As such, they follow the same naming conventions as one another. (That is, their names are Japanese in origin and will have a meaning pertaining to the forest, trees, stars, strength, beauty, etc. Basically, keep it on theme.)
Apparel
Shinobira dress for their roles. They may decorate themselves with flowers or fallen branches of the trees they protect, for example. Priests and priestesses will wear more ceremonial garb, while the warriors wear armor and weapons. Always, however, the priority of the ninja is to blend in with their surroundings.
Here are some examples of what Shinobira ninja may look like.

Muses
As has already been stated, the kami Sanmei is a muse. He inspires art and beauty through emotion. Astarrea can be considered a kind of muse herself, inspiring insight and clarity of thought. This married couple of kami sometimes may create lesser versions of themselves: muses which inspire a particular feeling, idea, or trait. These spirits may be created as a blessing for a mortal that the kami decide to help, or as a curse on mortals who trifle with them. Sometimes, these beings are created and sent out without any particular destination in mind, and these muses find their people for themselves to inspire. Muses can appear or disappear as they please (that is, they can become invisible or visible at will), and mortals may not even realize that they are under a muse's inspiration.

Spirit
Muses of spirit are unusual. They are made with the combined efforts of both kami: a petal of Sanmei's instilled with the essence of Astarrea. Those who are blessed by one of these muses gain insight into the supernatural. They may become aware of spirits around them, or recognize a creature not quite of this world on sight as what they truly are, even if the creature is in disguise. Each muse only inspires one affect, though. So if a muse of spirit is inspiring you to recognize a ghost in disguise, you will not also gain the ability to see that ghost when it chooses to disappear.

Important!
ALL muses are direct descendants of Astarrea and Sanmei. If a muse winds up interbreeding with mortal dragons, their children will not be muses. HOWEVER, their children may be sort of "self-inspired." That is, they will have for themselves whatever ability their muse parent was able to inspire in others. Any grandchildren of a muse will be regular dragons, however.

HOWEVER, their children may be sort of "self-inspired." That is, they will have for themselves whatever ability their muse parent was able to inspire in others. Any grandchildren of a muse will be regular dragons, however.
ALSO!
A g1 fitting the color requirements may adopt this lore.

Astarrean Lacquer-Luster Dragons
In the Viridian Labyrinth, a certain ritual has been discovered which fills dragons with the power of nature, and gives their skin the appearance of polished wood, and a vibrant, green sheen. This ritual can only be performed when the power of the Gladekeeper is strong. Some dragons have performed this ritual within Astarrea's territory. Curious and approving of the respect given to her trees, Astarrea and Sanmei have decided to give a similar blessing to dragons who perform the druidic ritual in honor of their home. Though these dragons' appurtenances and magic vary from those of true Lacquer-Luster dragons, they are still certainly of the same variety. Absorbing the energies of the Starfall Isles, however, these dragons are Arcane, rather than Nature, even if they started out as a dragon of a different element.
