I've had/have a pair for a breeding project that I no longer feel very invested in for a while, but they have some pretty hatchlings.
So, a bit on a whim, I searched by color to dress one of them, and slapped some apparel on so maybe I could find a place outside of the 'breeding projects' tab for him. (I want only 2 or 3 lair tabs at some point- lore only).
Suddenly I rather liked him, and thought of a place in my lore for him almost instantly!
I kinda just wanted to share him, but I also am a bit curious if anyone has a dragon or dragons that have done this to them.

I hatched Honey last christmas and planned to sell her as fodder with the rest of her siblings but...something just kinda pulled me to her. the splash/aqua combo was fun but not generally my cup of tea? i just shoved her in my den and tossed the voidfellow stuff on her pretty much solely because i wanted to test it out, i didn't plan to keep her with it. so she just sat in my den for months and i never payed her much of a glance..but suddenly the past few months i've just totally fallen in love with her. i didn't even want to take off the voidfellow stuff like i'd intended to haha...i built a full outfit around it and i love it. she's hardcore C:

I hatched her myself and was going to sell her in a mass auction (albeit a little higher priced than the others because of the multi-gaze), but then the scry I used to show her off slapped me across the face and I was so relieved when she didn’t sell after all. Now I love her to bits

Wow, he's really handsome! Good contrast of colors there, especially the flowerfall. I really like his bio code too. It's so neat!
I had a similar thing happen with this girl. I'd bought her as a birthday derg, but for a long time I didn't know what to do with her and I considered selling her. Then I popped over to the Kitsune subspcies thread and realized she qualified for one of the variants. The subspecies lore was also a huge inspiration, and she soon got an extra-long story and a clan role. ^^

Yes, this definitely happened to me a few days ago!
I was culling my lair from 81 to like 33 dragons, so a lot were yeeted to Glademom. The same fate was about to befall Nucifer, because I figured he was kind of bland after all with his very similar colors.
But then... I was casually looking on the AH for some skins, and tried this gorgeous one on my imp boy and...

Definitely my girl Funfetti counts, I got her for random fodder breeding, and was gonna exalt her (even got her leveled) but felt kinda bad at the literal last minute and decided to try some skins on for fun and yeah..
