long and rather rambling post ahead, fair warning!
so! the other day i hatched a rather unassuming primal gaoler bab, from one of my regular old breeding pairs (as it tends to happen)
my personal favorite is this bane scry, i really love how the wraith plays off the wind primal eyes!
heres the thing. hes gorgeous. i kinda love him. i'd be happy keeping him in my pretties page for sure! i'd love if i could insert him into my lore somewhere though, given that im a wind lair and he's just such a pretty primal! if i were to do this though i'd have to either remove one of my pre-existing wind characters, or add another 3 along with him. i'm really weird about needing full rows for all my lore related dragons, i cant stand the look of an incomplete row, so i'd absolutely need it to be a multiple of 4 (currently there are 24 of them, 1 of whom i'm working on a breeding project to replace because i fell in love with a new scry for her concept)
i really love all of my windy dragons! i have no desire to get rid of any of them! so my dilemma is this:
do i keep him, and work him into my lore, thus bringing in 3 more characters along with him to even out the rows? if i do that, what niches do i have left to fill of wind dragons? their clan is largely spiritually based, with all of the character taking on a priest-type connection to the elements, so i dont really need like. a chef dragon, or a warrior dragon, or something like that.
i already have
- a royal family (king, queen, and their 2 daughters, plus an adoptive son mentioned again later)
- a windsinger colored spiritual leader
- a priest-y spiritual leader character of each special eye type (specifically a goat baby guardian, an innocent eyed musical ridgeback who will probably get new eyes when better ones for her are released, a facet fae, a swirl spiral, a multigaze imperial, a dark sclera coatl, and a glowing eyed pearlcatcher)
- a few extra spiritual windys just for fun/potential future eye types (specifically an animated nocturne kite via the stitched and patchwork genes, a pirate-esque storm-based mirror, and a cloud-based tundra with innocent eyes)
(the three of whom i brought in... for the sole purpose of filling out a row so i could bring another character's adopted son onto that page and off of my flight rep page, as i came up with something else to fill the 12th spot on their page. yes this is very complicated. im so sorry.) - a few primal teachers (wind, ice, and fire; plus the wind one's son)
- the primal students being trained by said teachers to be spiritual leaders (shadow, light, plague, and nature)
i also already have a banescale in my wind group (the adoptive son of the royal family who was found as an unhatched egg); but his bane scry is my favorite scry, so adding him in might mess with the lore i have in the works already (namely there being one baby gaoler and one baby bane, both found as unhatched eggs (at different times and in different places, who happened to hatch within a few months of each other) adopted by different royal families, who just absolutely hate each other for no reason at all despite their families being good friends who happily combined their clans into one.)
none of my lore is very concrete, so it doesnt really matter, i can figure out a work around, but is this one gorgeous lad worth all that effort? if i keep him i'd love to have him as part of my lore!
... or i could sell him.
he's a pretty brown wind primal with green accent colors. he could sell well, and would likely make someone else very happy. honestly, if someone replies to this saying they would love to have him and makes vaguely decent offer, with enthusiasm? i'd probably sell him just to make them happy! i like him a lot, but he could almost definitely serve someone else better!
so what do i do? do i keep him? do i sell him? do i shove him in my hibden (when he comes off his cooldown, oops) to think about later? do you have any preferred scries? any suggestions for other wind dragons to put in my lore?
