TOPIC | Let a returning player scry your dergs!
The title is perhaps a bit overdramatic... I've only been gone for a couple of months (like start of the year at most, May at least, I've honestly forgotten) but I've missed a fair amount. New genes, new breeds (although by some stroke of luck I made it back just in time for the new Ancient one). A lot of my own dragons' scries are old/outdated or I just don't like them any more, so before I scry any of my own dragons again I thought it'd be fun to warm up by scrying some other player's!
That's it really, show me your dergs and let's get scrying!

Here’s a couple of gen ones you could mess around with! :)

@brightmeadow And mess around I have! I'm... honestly not sure if these are alright or if I missed the mark entirely, so I guess you can be the judge of that. Anura: Alright so... I may or may not have taken one look at him & their colours and gone "he needs to be cottagecore". Something about the combination of greens and browns always makes me think of Gaolers even though they're Ice dragons, so... Phantom & Peregrine I chose after just scrolling through the gene list since I feel like Murk and Mint both are a bit flat on their own, but look really nice with genes that give them some darker/lighter bits. Gnarlhorns I chose to somewhat resemble tree branches since Blossom didn't really look right with brown flowers (didn't want the poor guy to be wilted). Tbn Tundra: Choosing a breed to scry this one as was a bit more difficult, as the colours didn't immediately scream any specific breed to me- I think people often go for very bright or otherwise rather mystically-coloured Pearlcatchers but I honestly think they look very nice with both earthy and ethereal tones mixed together! Tiger was a sort of subtle gene to add some depth without being overwhelming, and Filigree matched well both with brown to the primary and deep green to the Nature element, but I feel like the Wisteria Freckle is what really shines here! It's just aesthetically pleasing in a way I can't really explain?? Ephemera: I won't lie, I honestly think you hit the bullseye with the Jaguar/Blossom Gaoler scry. I had been trying to not use too many of my own fav genes (I'd give everything Jaguar, Bee, and/or Opal if I could tbh) but Jaguar just looked so good on this girl no matter what breed I put her as... Bright greens always make me think of Wildclaws, too. As a Wildclaw her eyes were actually a bit darker than Ice eyes normally are so when I tried out Noxtide I felt like the blue tinge on that matched really nicely. Antique was honestly far harder to work with here than I expected?? Ghost usually works really nice with lighter colours like that but here it just wasn't feeling right, and in all honesty I'm not sure Contour does either. Contour & Underbelly were the best ones I could come up with for a tertiary, they're a bit strange on their own but I feel like this is a scry that could work really well with some apparel! With that I will stop talking your ears (eyes?) off! Thank you for letting me scry your dergs, they were all very fun to work with and attempt to find a nice scry that wasn't too similar to anything you'd already come up with! It's nice to be back in the workshop after so many months, so even if none of these scries are to your liking, thank you again for letting me mess around with them!! ^^

No pressure if you’ve warmed up and are ready to re-scry your own collection, but maybe you could take a crack at my triple? I’ve never been able to come up with a design I like for him! @GuardianLioness I'm definitely feeling more ready to get back into the swing of things after having a bit of practice, but warm-up or not I love scrying both other people's dragons and my own, so I'll keep scrying as long as people keep suggesting new dragons for me to try! This boy has some serious rocky vibes. He is not just an Earth dragon, he is an Earth dragon. I took a peek through your lair and he seemed to be the only Earth dragon in it, though I didn't check the Hibernal Den so I could've missed some- all of that combined with the apparel left me thinking "yeah he's gotta be an Earth rep". I really liked the look of the accent he has on as well, so I wanted to try matching with that (and thankfully one of Slate's undertones is yellow, so...) I went with Skink for a primary since it's got those yellow bits and it's not too overbearing of a primary, and then Daub as a secondary (which I don't think I've ever actually chosen before, come to think of it?) because the dark wings could make the accent/yellow colours pop a bit more. I couldn't decide which tertiary to go with, so if you end up liking any of these scries then I guess that's up to you! The options I tried out were Crackle, Gembond, and Keel (because they've got those earthy vibes), as well as Peacock because it once again has some nice yellows in it. At first I was trying Opal as well, since the reddish tones of it sort of matched his halo, but I didn't end up including it since they didn't really work well with the rest of it imo?
