I'm looking for some quick dragon cash to finish up some projects, so I'm going to do a few lair reviews to pass the time! Here are the services I'm offering (updated 4/10/23): [b]1. All the Good Things:[/b] I will choose [b]THREE dragons[/b] from your lair and say all the things I like about them! Colors, genes, outfits, lore, broadcast message, general vibes, you name it! This is just me gushing about your pretty dragons to give you that big serotonin boost we all love every now and then. [b]2. Lore Look-Thru:[/b] You will choose [b]up to two dragons[/b] from your lair and I will analyze their lore for you! This option will be a mix of things I like and constructive criticism on how I think you can improve! I will no longer be poking through your lair for this particular service, sorry! [b]3. Dragon Headcanons:[/b] On the opposite side of the lore spectrum, if you're having trouble coming up with lore for a specific dragon, you may choose this option for me to give you a few bullet points about personality, backstory, and overall character! This option is only available for [b]one dragon[/b] at a time, and you must pick the dragon to receive the headcanon! I won't pick a random one from your lair. [b]NEW: 4. Lore Connections:[/b] This new option is similar to my dragon headcanon service, but with a small twist! I have 150+ lore dragons in my own clan, and even though they don't all have their lore written out yet, many of them have led vibrant lives both in and out of Chiaroscuro, and there's a good chance they may have met some of your dragons along the way! So, I'm offering this service to give your dragons some additional lore while fleshing mine out as well! This service can work two ways: You can pick [b]one dragon from your lair and one dragon from my lair[/b], and I'll write a few bullet points about their interactions with each other. Maybe they're friends, maybe they're enemies, maybe they only know each other by reputation or because they're in the same trade, whatever. The possibilities are endless. OR, you can pick [b]one dragon from your lair and let ME pick the dragon from mine[/b], and I'll do the same thing. This is literally just my dragon headcanon service with me throwing another dragon in the mix to spice things up. I'm in the process of writing my own lore at the moment as well as doing these shorter reviews and lore-based things, so it would just take up too much time for me to get any kind of more developed lore to you in a timely manner. [s]I'm getting serious progen vibes here, pls tell me if I'm wrong[/s] As much as I enjoy a good green-range fae, I'll admit that the first thing to catch my eye was actually her broadcast message! It's only one word, I just had to know more! And now I'm very happy I took a closer look because she's very pretty. I have to talk about your lovely apparel choices first; you've done a fantastic job highlighting her Goldenrod AND her green, and it's done in a very simple, but effective way. I didn't even notice the tail twist among the roses until my second look over her, but I think you've made the right move by letting the roses take center stage. She proves that basic can be a blessing since I think she'd look too cluttered if she had a bunch of fancy genes to go with her outfit. Her lore also intrigues me; it ends on such a cliffhanger! What problems came up, Ganny? Gorgeous. You've mixed so many colors and shades throughout her outfit and somehow made it work wonderfully! There's multiple shades of purple, pink, even GOLD, but it all looks so cohesive that it makes my heart happy. I'm also extremely impressed at how you've taken quite a few pieces of bulkier apparel and layered them so well. I was particularly impressed by the cloak, cape, and fieldtools mash-up, but even things like the wooly tail and the headpiece could have looked strange and they really just don't. Her lore gives a good view of her personality, and I wouldn't have minded reading more! Anyone with such a fun outfit's gotta have some good stories. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/5959918][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/59600/5959918_350.png[/img][/url] Another fantastic broadcast message drew me to Ebor, which I appreciate because I was kind of overlooking him in favor of a couple of others on this page, and he looks so much better up close than I'd originally thought he would. You've somehow managed to make him look both more and less pastel than he was originally, and somehow I think it fits his broadcast message so perfectly. He looks very polished and put-together; I like when dragons can use one apparel set for most of their look but have a couple of accent pieces thrown in there and it doesn't look too same-y. I've seen so many variations of this armor used by now and he really manages to make it feel like his own. I think the contrast of the peace dove with the sword used for battle is nice because it throws in so many character possibilities and makes me want to hear more about what his life is like! He might be my favorite dragon in this review! Beyond the great name, however, I believe this is the first time I've seen the Mistlurker's garb used on a dragon, and I really like it on her way more than I ever would have expected. Once again, your fantastic apparel layering is showing up here; while it's not quite as good as Ortus, that much on the neck and head could so easily be too clunky, and it really doesn't feel like it is. The head especially makes her look like some sort of ancient forest demon creature and I'm living for it. I think the use of the amethyst flourish set helps soften her look a bit and makes her more intriguing than if she just wore the spookier apparel. It raises the question of "what would a dragon this spooky need/want pretty jewelry for?" Also I don't see blue-range primary/secondary with purple-range stained as often as I'd like, and she pulls it off very nicely. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/57413074][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/574131/57413074_350.png[/img][/url] And lastly, I'm going to talk about Rival because there are so many original aspects to his look I'm kind of in awe of. I have to talk about his wings first because WOW. Wow wow wow I never would have expected that combination to look so nice. His tertiary straight-up looks like an accent or part of his apparel, but nope! Just some good solid gene work with basic coming in clutch again as a great blank canvas. The chain/feathered wing combo is good enough on it's own, but then you had to add the scarlet garniture to make it more cohesive with the rest of his red look and it is just. Too. Good. I don't think it would have worked on any other breed or pose, but you've made it work here. This is a very interesting take on what I assume is supposed to be more of a warrior/antagonistic character. The sword would be enough to signify it on its own, but everything else somehow enhances that vibe while not being what you would expect at all. He kind of looks like he'd politely ask to kill you and then the murder would be absolutely gruesome. I can't explain it I just like him a lot I hope you enjoyed! @absolmon Hello hello! You have such a big, well-dressed lair, and it was a lot of fun to look through! I'll admit, rather than any more coherent thought, my brain was initially just yelling "STEAMPUNK NOC STEAMPUNK NOC" on repeat, but I think it's the way you've chosen to enhance her steampunk look that made me choose her for this list. Firstly, using the silver steampunk set on a black primary is already a recipe for good things; I think if you'd tried to use something that matched her secondary color better instead I wouldn't like her overall look nearly as much. And that accent? Perfection. Top notch. A+++. It gives the impression of the metal covering even more of her body and it kind of makes me wonder about her character as well, because with her current look I'd totally believe she was some sort of steampunk robot or cyborg or even just a dragon that was crippled for some reason and the steampunk enhancements allowed her to live a normal life again. There's a lot of fun possibilities here. Also her eyes match her wings and using the fedora instead of the steampunk goggles was a good choice to show that little pop of color off. I love her. I have so many dragons with steampunk but clearly I need more. You could have chosen any newer, shinier gene to enhance the shininess of her accent and her secondary, but I really applaud you for using Bar here instead. Aside from giving a bit more depth to her overall look, I think it also ties in with the lore you have for her quite well! It kind of dispels the illusion that she is an immaculate master magician and brings her more down-to-earth. I like that quite a bit. The combination of the rogue cape, tailcoat, and waistcoat is a good choice here; the cape especially fanning out behind her gives her more of a sense of "hey! I'm here, look at me!" that makes her stand out. I think it's interesting that you chose white over any other color for most of her apparel, especially because there are definitely some sets you could have chosen that would match her natural colors better, but quite frankly, it's an inspired choice and I'm glad you didn't go more with the flow here. She's well put-together and I keep finding new things I like about her. I could tell he had a great accent over all those gorgeous greens, and wow I love it even more than I thought I would. I've never seen it on a dragon before now, but now I need three dragons to put it on and make a bunch of nature spirits or something. I especially love the way it blends with the antlers and the apparel you've chosen for the feet. Have you ever seen the animated movie [i]Epic[/i] about that society of tiny leaf warrior people that live in the woods? For some reason I could so see this guy living in that universe. I like that you've kept his apparel more minimalist; it really shows off his gorgeous genes and helps with the wild creature vibes he has. I think that what little he is wearing signifies him as not someone who would back down from a fight, but not someone who would go looking for one. He's the kind of creature people would try to hunt down for glory only to realize how woefully unprepared they were. He'd be a fun dragon I'd like to have lore ties with in my own clan, quite honestly! I do have one burning question, though: how did you manage to give this dragon a sword [i]and[/i] a quiver and not make it look clunky? Have we always been able to do that on WC ladies? Have I been woefully unaware this whole time? How did you make it look so nice tell me your ways oh wise one I'll admit that based off of the gif in her bio, I have no idea what show/movie this character is from, but I still like her very much. I think your apparel layering here, even aside from the sword/quiver look, is very well done. You've done a great job of combining lots of different apparel sets and making them look like they belong together. I didn't realize that was the black aviator stuff at first, but I like how much more polished it makes her look feel. On top of that, I'm really digging the way her tertiary looks on her face; it's enough of a contrast to her hair that it it gives her a distinct expression while also blending well enough to still feel aesthetically pleasing. Similar to Sheehan (though I'm actually not sure if I mentioned this in his section), I like that you've let her big green wings just stand out and be pretty without any apparel. I was like, "oh yeah, I must have been mistaken," but NO. She definitely gives me adventurer vibes with her ice pick and mage overcoat and bag, but I also like that she feels classy and put together with her hints of gold and all her jewelry. Choosing to use lots of different shades of brown in her outfit is very good and shows off her natural shades without overwhelming them. I'll admit to being more iffy when it comes to genes like jaguar and rosette on how much I like them, but they're perfect for her. They don't feel too busy because they're more muted, but they help her not to feel too blank in any way either since her apparel's a bit more spread out across her body. She seems like she'd be a good friend to have and I would certainly enjoy going on a DnD adventure with her in my party! I hope you enjoyed!
