This is a lineage for a pair of dragons. This entity, the light, purges those minds of everything inside them leaving them as a shell for the parasite to control. But if the host is aware of the light there's still time to save them. [size=5]STORY[/size] [left][indent]Honeydew as a young child was taught that the dark parts of the world [/indent]were so separated from true reality and that good will was everywhere. He lived his life ignorant of what was really going on and while doing so the light slowly crept in to take away what was left. [indent]Eventually Honeydew met Mallory,[/indent]but she noticed something about him was off and started trying to find a spell to help him. Eventually, she was able to find something that could break the light off bit by bit. She was persistent and everyday would cast it in hopes it's effects would last. It seemed as though something was missing, she tried to explain it to Honey but he never seemed to understand. He didn't see anything wrong with himself, leaving Mallory to do something drastic. She brought him to a lake in which she had enchanted, the reflection was him except when she had first met him. The spell lasted very shortly, but it was when the image dispersed that Honeydew realized he was no longer the same dragon. [indent]After that they promised to never let that happen again to anyone[/indent] they love. It was a big responsibility, but they at least didn't want any of their immediate family to become infected. So through their young they made sure to make them aware of reality... but for some that wasn't enough. [/left] [/quote]

Losing other dragons close to them 2. Being exposed to a totalitarian-like society 3. A drastic change from what they're used to 4. Fatal injuries (these dragons can not be recovered, think of them as zombies) 5. Being around an infected dragon for a long period of time (3 months) [/quote] -------------------------------------------------- [center]Infected dragons are shells used to host the light.[/center] [indent]In the earlier stages of this the light is less present, occasionally taking over. This results in others becoming confused and feeling that the dragon is very two faced. After 3 months of the dragon's life the light has managed to take full control of the host's mind. The only way they can break free from this is to become fixated on something they once cared for or something they've learned to care for. This can be quite hard though, because the light loves to interrupt and shut down the process. It will take much longer for the dragon to revert to who they actually are.[/indent]

Everything inside the host's brain is cleared out (except basic needs) and replaced with new data on the uninfected: The light may be even attempting to reach outside this lineage... Recovered dragons with this role do not regain their memories, and instead must slowly be reminded of who they were. They do have a harder time bouncing back because the data they've stored is extremely secure. [item=Primary Gene: Iridescent][item=Secondary Gene: Shimmer][item=Tertiary Gene: Capsule] ----- [b]Shattered Scavengers[/b] These dragons have visible corruption instead of internal. The light may not control their mind but it can control their actions. To be recovered these dragons must manage to regain their body. This has been done by removing the infection, but it's not recommended. Removing those areas can at time prove to be fatal as the light is keeping the dragon alive. Speaking in code and performing tasks when programmed to do so. Their eyes are usually more vibrant than the average dragon. They have to be disconnected from the light to be recovered. Now please, don't go bashing these dragons on the head, instead use [i]magic[/i]. The only effective way to remove light is by using dark spells that can [i]hopefully[/i] break the link between the parasite and host. Many dragons judge on appearances first, so sometimes the light will target the hatchlings that appear to be uninfected to play tricks. These dragons are usually able to infect unsuspecting targets easily by any mean they choose. The dogs are the obeying followers of the light. It's been shown that on command their entire body can be controlled by the light. They've been known to be dangerous and will play dirty any chance they get. Recovering these dragons can be by reminding them they are an individual or making their supposed leader appear weak. [item=Breed Change: Mirror][item=Secondary Gene: Noxtide] [b]Brown, red, and gray[/b] are the most common colors seen on these dragons. -------------- [b]Drone Zone[/b] Recently I've uncovered a multitude of hatchlings with similar but yet not similar enough characteristics. These "drones" seem to be trying to pick at and move around eggs from other nests. I've even watched an egg get devoured by one of them. As they grow older though, they seem to be... trying to steal away other dragons? The weirdest part is that they're not picking at any of the infected hatchlings. This hivemind is trying to plan something, but what? [item=Primary Gene: swirl][item=Breed Change: Spiral][item=Primary Gene: tapir] More to be analyzed. -------------- [b]Beyond Sight[/b] [i]Careful! I'm contagious[/i] This discovery so far has been the scariest I have witnessed. From the time of birth these dragons will attack others, regardless of size, age, or type. Once bitten these victims become dazed and nauseous. These symptoms last about 4 sunrises and on the 5th... they can't walk, they can't speak, almost as if... they've been reborn. [item=Vial of Elemental Sight] There is no way to heal victims attacked by beyond sight, and the recovery for dragons with beyond sight is unknown. -------------- [b]King of the Jungle[/b] The commanders; the infected that were chosen to take charge. The light is adapting... it is evolving. Everyday the host must fight [i]willingly[/i] to remove the infection. However, most thrive in the light and are so blinded by it they would do anything to prove their capabilities. -------------- [size=5]Uninfected[/size] -------------- [b]Healer[/b] Like Mallory, these dragons can heal their loved ones with magic. Most specialize in light purging and sometimes travels from clan to clan to heal others. [item=Primary Gene: savannah][item=Secondary Gene: Safari][item=Tertiary Gene: Runes] -------------- [size=5]Both[/size] -------------- [b]Statues[/b] These are dragons that only come to life when not looked upon. The only thing you can see while staring at them is their colorful eyes that look a bit too real. Grey ranged dragons have a chance of being a statue. [item=Animated Statue] ----- [b]Frozen[/b] They are dragons that no matter where they live, will find the cold. These dragons are incapable of living in warmer areas because they will start to feel an uncontrollable burning if too warm. Sometimes even the slightest raise in temperature can irritate them. Any dragons with the color ice or light blue ranged dragons have a chance of being frozen. [item=Ice Runestone] ----------- [b]Skeletons in the Closet[/b] These dragons are usually already dead but stuck in a state of immortality. Most have darker secrets hidden under the surface... [item=Tertiary Gene: ghost] ----- [b]Smoke and Mirrors[/b] Dragons that specialize in illusions. They tend to be more cunning and manipulative than others and love to experiment.
