I don’t have any with Koi yet, but here are a few scries.

I find Koi very situational. It often just doesn't work for me, but I like it when it's used to try to replicate actual Koi. I've seen some really pretty blue range dragons that use Koi really well too, it looks like water. I'm sure a couple will pop up in this thread!

Koi is really hit or miss, honestly. It doesn't pair too well with busy patterns. I find it works quite well with fade/blend.
