Every dragon in my lair is special to me, and I don’t plan on getting rid of any of them anytime soon. Despite this, only one dragon of mine has a truly sentimental value to me, and that dragon is Acidfang:

He is quite important to me! Many years ago, long before I had an account here, I stumbled upon this website due to seeing some dragon fanart on deviantart. Being a lover of dragons, I quickly investigated the site. The first thing that caught my eye was the scrying workshop, and I spent a long time playing with different dragon breeds and genes, and instantly fell in love with how the Mirrors looked. I ended up creating a scry of a black and green Mirror with the Skink and Spinner genes, but alas, I couldn’t create an account because the registration windows were closed. Abandoning the workshop, I left the site. Eventually, memories of Flightrising left my mind, and I forgot all about it. It wasn’t until a few years later when I would happen upon the site again, and fortunately I was able to create an account when I did! I still recalled the images of that black and green Mirror from years ago, and vowed that my first project would be to create a dragon in it’s likeness. And so I did.

She. She was bought to be based on a chosen theme for a project me and my sister were/are working on called Eden. It is a story, involving a world called "Eden" (the equivalent of 'Earth' in the story) and later to be introduced, several other worlds. Monsters and humans, love and hate, heartache, loneliness and longing, death and return from death, starry/galaxy scenery, and exploration of course, following two main female protagonists -both of which find a lover throughout the story, one of which finds a vengeful lover-turned-sweetheart and father [emoji=familiar heart size=1]
There is no easy way to explain it until it is finished, lol.

That's a wonderful story! And I definitely have that kind of attachment to one of my pixel dragons. You know that feeling when you look at one of your older permas and realize that if they came into your lair now, there's no chance you would have kept them? That's Luceat for me.

Paint gene and basic tert with a color that doesn't even match the rest of him (grape)? Present me would yeet a dragon like that to the Arcanist without a second thought. If I remember correctly, newbie me bought him for fodder price from the AH before I knew what fodder was because I thought he looked nice. That was five years ago.
But I think that the biggest reason why I kept him was because when I was reading the FR encyclopedia, I learned that grey coatls were regarded as bad luck in lore. I probably went "poor thing! D:" then wrote up some very depressing lore for him that has since been revamped. Since Luceat now comes with an entire backstory carrying some integral bits of lore about the founding of my clan, he's never going to leave my lair, even if his appearance has outgrown my tastes.

Every dragon in my lair has sentimental value but I definitely have some that have less use that I keep around just because I feel I should wait until I come up with something for them.
