So it took two months, but after blowing huge amounts of dragon money the day they first came out, and even more money making them look pretty, I now have fully gened, G1 Obelisks. I haven't *fully* settled on clothes and skins yet, but by and by large, I'm satisfied enough to want to show them off.
This is Gwi, my free DD dragon and the first to get fully gened up. He's rocking vermillion/coal/iris for his colors, and was the dragon that convinced me peacock as a tertiary was actually pretty OK.
I got most of these genes right at market price, so he was around 334,000 treasure all told.
Rhoss is the second Obelisk I managed to fully gene up, with an interesting mix of blue/red/auburn for her colors. I liked everything but her tert, but peacock once again turned out to mix well with her marbled secondary, so not too bad!
Thanks to her more expensive primary gene, she ended up costing a bit more than Gwi, at around 515,000 treasure all told.
Olex my beloved, by far my favorite out of all my Obis, to the point where I seriously considered refraining from breeding her at all (I normally breed the hell out of all my dragons, G1 or no,) just so that she could be that much more special. I eventually succumbed, but it was a hard thing.
She's ruby/spruce/cantaloupe, and the instant I saw what she looked like with some gem genes on her, I just knew I was going to break my bank to make it happen.
She was 2700 gems and 140,000 treasure all told, but the end result was so worth it.
Finally, we have Clade. He was the one I had the most difficulty picking a good scry for, mostly because he was originally shamrock/bubblegum/thicket, and that bright pink just did not match the rest of him, no matter what I tried. It didn't help pink is my least favorite color as a whole.
In the end, I decided to invest in a scatterscroll, giving him his current mix of Maroon/sunshine/amber, which was pretty good.
I'd wanted a good looking dragon with stripes as a secondary for a while now, anyway, and his set turned out to be a relatively inexpensive 380,000, which somewhat made up for the~400,000 treasure it took to buy an auction house scatterscroll, putting him closer to 780,000 total.
All told, that was around 1,769,000 treasure and 2700 gems, (which would convert to roughly 2.7 mill in extra treasure, thereabouts.) It was a lot of money, but also a lot of fun. I'd love to see your gened up G1s and how much they cost you, so please feel free to show me and the world all your favorite money pits down below.
